Sen. Barack Obama had eggs over easy and white toast, while the mayor had scrambled eggs and white toast.

But this was a different mayor from the one he normally meets with (Mayor Richard Daley). This mayor might even have more power. His name is Michael Bloomberg and he's the mayor of New York City and a potential presidential (or vice presidential) candidate.

Sources say the Illinois Democrat and current presidential candidate paid for this morning's breakfast.

The mayor’s staff reportedly reached out and offered a standing invitation for Obama to sit down with him and have coffee when he was next in town. Coffee turned into breakfast and a discussion about the economy, education, homeland security and global warming.

The two had previously met when the mayor testified before a Senate committee.

"They share the common theme of believing that there is too much game playing in Washington and not enough problem solving," Obama spokesman Ben LaBolt said.

Obama appeared Thursday night at a fundraiser at the historic Apollo Theater in Harlem.

What? I didn't think Republicans and Democrats were allowed to eat together.

This could be a bad omen for Hillary. Bloomberg is well respected as a businessman and a politician, therefore any positive sign that Obama gets, of the endorsement variety, will be noted by more than a handful of voters.
