The Swamp

by Mike Dorning

PENACOOK, N.H.—The Clinton camp says it is unimpressed by reports today of huge crowds at a campaign event for Barack Obama or the frenzy of enthusiasm he received last night from the audience at Democratic party fundraising dinner attended by presidential candidates.

"How you do on Jan. 8 is not based on how large your crowds are or how loud they were at one dinner," Clinton spokesman Jay Carson said, responding to questions from reporters after a Clinton campaign event here.

Carson said the Clinton campaign still anticipates a strong showing in the New Hampshire primary.

"We've always said Sen. Obama is a great orator. He gives a good speech," Carson continued, adding that his own candidate is "steeped in knowledge and experience."

Of course, Carson can draw on his own experience. He was press secretary Howard Dean, whose 2004 campaign stirred massive displays of enthusiasm until it collapsed upon contact with real voters at the Iowa caucuses and then the New Hampshire primary.

Barack and Roll, baby!

OBAMA 08!

Stop hating. You know you wish they were cheering for you.

Camp Clinton is not impressed by anybody except themselves, it is apparent and thats their real problem. She`d make a better Republican with all her rehearsed, insincere,
and now ,desperate, situation.

I clearly remember how the Onamamites whined and complained when poor Barack was booed at the CNN debate in December.

Also - Hillary had to turn away 500 at a stop in NH today because there was no room for them - so that's not too shabby!

I would happily vote for 'Bama; I would have to close one eye, fart, jump up and down on one foot, and swing a cat turd in a sock around my head to vote for Hills.

Face it Hillary, you have a problem.

Jee wiz, it's been hours since any new posts have updated!

What kind of processor is the ChiTrib using? Perhaps an old IBM 360/Mod 40??

I know, the 'keypunch' department is putting our comments on 80 column 'IBM' cards, then they will sort them on an 083 'sorter, load them up on a 2540 'reader' and update the 2314 disk files.

Come on ChiTrib; get real, (NOT REEL TO REEL 3420!!)

Trivia question:
On every IBM mainframe built in the 60's and 70's was a five letter word.
What was that word?
(Hint; ChiTrib needs to do it.)

The Clinton campaign has no clue what to do now. The Obama machine is unstoppable. No one cares about Clinton. Only 20 students showed up today to see her.

Complainer,

THINK!

Students;

Please vote this time, in the GENERAL ELECTION!!

I trust your political instincts, but not your commitment.

C MO,I think they've figured out the 10 trillion dollar debt that the REpugs have given to the wealthiest is their BABY!

Mr. Carson has indicated Hillary is "steeped in knowledge and experience." I assume her knowledge of banking and finance from Whitewater and her experience attempting to develop a failed health care plan with full approval of the president (Bill) is part of what he's talking about.

Hillary can appear before large crowds, too. All she has to do is to go on stage at a Hannah Montana concert.

Barack Obama has clearly touched an American nerve in a way that seems bound to propel him to nomination by his party. There appears to be no anger in this man, motivated as he is by a powerful desire to help his fellow Americans to overcome the harm done to the society during the past seven years, and to restore the sort of opportunity that ordinary Americans have always believed they OUGHT to have, for themselves and their progeny. Hillary Clinton is, first of all, no Bill Clinton -- and she strikes me as quite an angry person who carries an enemies list arraign in her head, most of it contained in her frontal lobe. I'm for Barack Obama.

Hillary may not be impressed by large Obama crowds, but she cannot ignore large vote #s for Obama - neither can Republicans!

Clinton gave a commanding performance once again! WON the debate!! Once again obama fumbled over words, refused to answer the questions, kept trying to attack Clinton, but he couldn’t get her, she in turn tore both Edwards and obama up. Having the first woman president is a huge change, with consequences across the country and the world. Agree with Hillary, it’s not about a speech you make obama. It is about working hard - we don’t need to be raising the false hopes of our country about what can be delivered. Obama does not have the national security experience and background to lead this nation," McCain said. Obama was extremely uncomfortable and out of his church element. It’s a true picture he cannot with stand the heat! He couldn’t keep up with Richardson on issues; He is lost when you put him next to any other candidate. Clinton stole the show! Outstanding performance. She is the only one that looked Presidential. Poor John Edwards, he is finished… appeared to try to be obamas best friend and then obama turned on him,(ha-ha). Richardson blew obama away. Obama was stumped at every question and would not answer, he kept trying to preach and it didn’t. We need a PRESIDENTIAL leader and that is clearly Hillary Clinton. FINALLY showing that obama is nothing more than a new preacher without substance. Clinton sealed my vote. Obama and Edwards are too inexperienced and childish for such a job.
CLINTON 2008

Hilary's arguments are using alot of smoke mirrors. Being the wife of a president does not give you the experience to govern it gives the experience to advise. If we go by her official political experience as a senator she is not that far ahead of Obam a in that department. The point as shown in Iowa has become irrelavent. Also a candidate that follows polls more closely than their convictions is not the right person for the presidency

Obama has intelligence and what Americans like to call "class," a form of grace that is very rare in American national politics.

Most importantly, he has a sense of freshness and honesty.

These are not qualities you can be coached into demonstrating, as Clinton so clearly demonstrates, along with people like Giuliani, Romney, or Thompson.

Clinton and almost all the Republicans represent the most tiresome, droning voice of the establishment.

It couldn't be clearer also that Obama knows what the real problems in America are. He wouldn't be able to solve many of them as president, but then people like Clinton, Giuliani, Romney don't even know what the problems are.

Clinton may have once understood the problems but that was so long ago that today she is just one more bloated, cynical Roman Senator in Washington with nothing to offer.

Hilary looked horrible in last night debate. Her attempt to put Edwards against Obama backfired in her face, then she started yelling like the true angry ugly woman that we know her to be.

My vote is for Obama.

A victory for Obama will be the best ever public relations internationally (and nationally) for the United States of America & all those who are hoping for a better day, and a better feeling (about politics & leadership). All of this is shaping up as a grand inspirational story. Already, America is way ahead of the world in terms of hope & opportunity.

President Obama. That has a nice ring to it! p.s. the Clinton era is over!!!

Hillary look at it this way;
the Dem turnout in Iowa was
240,000 people approx.
The GOP's was 119,000.
With 38% of the vote,Senator Obama received appox 92,000
votes,almost as much as all
the Republicans put together.
The facts are there, the American public is sick and tired of the way this country has been run by "experienced" candidates,we want one of us(not physically, but spiritually)
running this country.
It's time for the Baby Boomers to take a back seat;talk about Vietnam and
listen to Crosby,Stills and Nash.

Hill's been sippin' the HATERade again!!!

The only crowds Obama can attract, without his campaign throwing free Rock Concerts with free beer and brauts, are the left leaning Muslim Types intent on destroying the United States and all it stands for.
