by John McCormick

LOS ANGELES – Elizabeth B. Moynihan, who helped Sen. Hillary Clinton with her first bid for the Senate, has endorsed Sen. Barack Obama's presidential bid.

The widow of Sen. Daniel Patrick Moynihan, who represented New York for 24 years, said she considers Clinton a friend and good senator, but believes Obama will help rekindle political participation among young people.

In 1999, Clinton announced her candidacy for Moynihan’s Senate seat at his farmhouse in upstate New York. He and his wife stood with Clinton.

Suddenly Obama begins to look inevitable.

Edwards VP?

Oh yeah.

How come Democrats aren't capable of looking past the primaries and into the general election??? The other half of the country doesn't buy feel-good politics and they are going to SwiftBoat Obama to his doom.

We need Hillary to stand up to McCain. She has credibility and knowledge about issues that Obama hasn't had to deal with yet

Please google obama and beware. Also if he were so prepared why did these "old government" figures wait until after absentee ballots to endorse. To look sympathetic and still see a real president take oath- Hillary!

Hey Raj- Whats Happening!

Hillary Clinton name evokes memories of the ugly Clinton years of Monicagate, whitewater, Paula Jones and the failed government take over of health insurance not to talk of the Clinton impeachment. Obama represents a new vision of America, where people are judged by their character and not by whether they one half black or white. The Clintons' attempt to divide America by race will only make her a weak general election candidate as many Democratic voters may decide to seat out this ellection than to vote for her. Republicans will be energized by the mare mention Clinton name. Obama stands the best chance of unifying Democrats and winning the white House. Republican know it. It is time Democrats realize that their best chance of winning the White House is by nominating Obama.

What is this fantasty about Hillary Clinton having so much experience? It's true her husband has lots of experience, but she has never held an exectutive position. Her only elected office has been since Bill's presidency (what's this 35 years of experience shes always talking about??), even her senate election was primarily based upon HIS popularity, not HERS. Remember, she was the First Lady, not a co-president as she likes to imply. She observed the Presidency from the sidelines. Since when does a spouse's professional experience transfer to their spouse? Is Nancy Reagan qualified to be president? Or Laura Bush? Why aren't people asking this? If Hillary is nominated, the Republicans won't be so polite about this myth. The only thing she's ready to do on the first day in the White House is move in, since she already knows where things are.

The fact is that the Repubs have been waiting for HC and are ready to make Swiftboating look like child's play. Her "35 years experience" provide the ammo. Obama's record is much cleaner and far less susceptible to attack. Additionally, HC will pull Repubs out of the woodwork to vote against her. Not so with Obama. There's no doubt that Obama can take this all the way.

Obama can't be swift-boated. Look what has happened each time the Clintons have tried:

1) Six months ago, they called him naive for saying he wouldn't be afraid to negotiate with our enemies... Didn't work. America saw that Obama's vision for a new foreign policy was in fact exactly what we need. Today on the stump, B. Clinton is now saying that Hillary too would negotiate with both friend and foe.

2) Throughout the campaign, they've tried to say hope isn't enough, even ridiculed Obama for trying to inspire hope in the American people... Didn't work. He just reminded Americans that nothing worth fighting for in this country ever began without someone somewhere having hope. Now Billary talks about hope too!

3) Finally, and most insidiously, they tried to paint Obama as "just the Black candidate" in South Carolina (and even after the results came in!) What happened? The voters rejected this race-baiting by the Clintons and gave Obama a landslide victory - the largest margin of all the contested primaries. Now national polls have him gaining 10 points on Billary in the past 9 days!

The reason Obama cannot be swift-boated is that he's sincere. The American people listen to him and they know he's sincere. Why do you think his support is so great among folks of all political parties, and continuing to grow every day as more and more people are introduced to him for the first time?

"We need Hillary to stand up to McCain. She has credibility and knowledge about issues that Obama hasn't had to deal with yet"

For what strengths Clinton has, McCain has in spades. The Democrats have a better chance using asymetric warfare.

Beides, the Republicans hate Hillary ten times as much as they do Bill. While it may feel good to rub another Clinton victory in the face of Republicans, the reprocussions would not be pleasant. The Republicans are signalling a willingness to work with Obama. That should not be dismissed out of hand. Too many media personalities will have to lose face in making an HRC Presidency successful.

The reason anti-HRC propaganda has been successful is that it appears to have a kernal of truth. HRC seems to have a "take no prisioners" leadership style. This leadership style breaks down rather quickly in a democracy. The anti-HRC media present her as some kind of dictator in waiting. She couldn't pull that off if she wanted to.

Obama, on the other hand, does not suffer from the Clinton baggage. As the people who run the media recognise the damage done by W and the danger done to their investments, they will not stand in the way of a President that will try to save them. FDR claimed to be saving the "capital class," and it didn't mean abandoning the poor. Rupert Murdoch, the man who owns all those 24-hour Republican propaganda networks is holding fundraisers for HRC. He cannot simply fire Rush Limbaugh and all those other clowns, but he can tone them down. Those clowns cannot back down from the personal attacks on Clinton, but the dialog on Obama will not be so personal. They will simply turn to a predictable dismisal of his policies.

This change in the political winds is the reason Obama launched his candicy. His attitude early on was that it might be to early for him, but the time is NOW. A major part of leadership is timing. Another four to eight years in the Senate would have surely padded his resume, but the oppertunity to really change the county and the world will have disappeared. FDR didn't really want a fourth term, but hey? A man has to come forth when he is needed, not when he feels like it.

Yes, I too recall the Clinton years of corruption, scandal and a dot com boom and bust. Hillary the victim was making women everywhere look pathetic as she lied and Bill lied under oath. The corporations and special interests who now finance her campaign will all come before the interests of Americans. Obama/Edwards

Elizabeth Moynihan's is another great endorsement for Senator Obama! Obama! The Transportation Workers Union just endorsed him today and the California Medical Workers Union is endorsing him as well! I am absolutely thrilled!

YES WE CAN! FIRED UP AND READY TO GO!! YES WE CAN!!

To the Clinonistas:

Hillary Cling-on-Bill has NO integrity or character; she is divisive and untruthful. She has changed her persona so often--do any of you really know which of the many faces of Hillary you are voting for?

Bill and Hillary Cling-on-Bill have a sordid history of scandals and coverups, lies, and distortions. Whitewater, Filegate, Travelgate, The Lincoln Bedrood Fire Sale, sexual harassment, acceptance of questionable Chinese money, Bill' affair with Monica Lewinsky, Bill's lies to the nation and the world "I DID NOT HAVE SEX WITH THAT WOMAN --MONICA LEWINSKY!", Bill lied to the the Grand Jury. Bill's disbarment, Bill was barred from the Supreme Court; Bill was impeached; theft of White House property when they left the White House. and much more. Also, please google "THE CLINTON CHRONICLES" audio on the internet.

Do you still want them in the White House??

I've voted Republican in every election starting with Reagan. This will be my first time ever voting Democrat, and I'm voting for Obama.

Barack Obama's Health Care is the Same Universal Health Care but offered by Hillary but with one Major Difference: You Have the Option of Choice! Do you want to be forced to pay for medical insurance like you are mandated to pay your auto insurance now? Or would you rather have the option of CHOICE --to be able to decide whether or not you want to buy your medical coverage at this time? This way Barack Obama's plan does not put another mandated cost, like auto insurance, on the backs of the people, especially the young who already have college costs to contend with. However, the coverage is always there for you, if and when you need it.

From NBC's Chuck Todd
CNN did dial testing and reported that a slighty majority of their group gave the debate to Clinton .
Once again Clinton shined in the last debate! Was extremely Presidential! And easily stated facts, solutions and direction. Once again Obama fumbles and stumbles though trying to make points or somewhat answer the question, but not really. He doesn’t appear to be able to keep his train of thought, never seemed to be on the topic at hand. When they are next to one another she stands out, hands down. I think its O-bombs for obama…Sorry Teddy!

Obama showed vindictiveness and lack of magnanimity after his victory SC. The first part of his victory speech was deeply unpleasant attack on the Clintons. No graciousness there. And how did he handle defeat in New Hampshire and Nevada? With a combination of denial, petulance and the launching of a successful campaign to persuade the American media that the Clintons were engaged in a campaign of lies about him and, even worse, in a campaign of surreptitious racism. Clinton pointed out, it's not enough to hope and demand change; you had to be able to define what change you want and had to be able to deliver it. It was Obama who introduced King into the debate. Hillarys words were being construed not just as disrespect but as hidden racism. Obama's people was briefing the media to create this impression. The consequence has been exactly what you would expect. In the Nevada caucus, blacks voted overwhelmingly for Obama and non-blacks voted overwhelmingly for Clinton. In South Carolina, the black vote was 53 per cent of the total. Obama secured 80 per cent of it. That's the reason for his overwhelming victory there. He won only 23 per cent of the non-black vote. Contrast this to Iowa, where he won a large proportion of the white vote. It's a tragedy for Obama and entirely his own fault that this has happened. he became "the black candidate
Obama's most effective criticisms of Clinton, she voted for authorising the war, he opposed it from the start but (and this is crucially important) he had consistently opposed the war ever since. This story of consistent opposition over years was a "fairytale" the media had bought into.Obama has managed to persuade the media that this was a lie that he would correct. He hasn't corrected it, because he can't. He has not been consistent in the terms he set himself.
Obama supported Kerry for president, Kerry voted for war and continued to justify his support. Obama said that he did not want to cause Kerry embarrassment so he said that he, Obama, did not know how he would have voted. Isn't this the candidate who's about change, whose whole candidacy is based on a "different kind of politics"? Isn't this the candidate who says the country can no longer tolerate political spin, that lying in the name of political advantage is what's destroying the country? Yet on the very issue he identifies as the biggest moral issue facing America Obama effectively states that he was lying for political advantage.
Obama's calls for hope, for change. but hope to do what, to change to what? He hasn't said yet. He doesn't seem to know. He says that one of the high qualities of leadership is the ability to inspire by words, and he is right. It's a rare ability. But inspire to what end? It's a pity. He promised so much.

Obama is the Paris HIlton of politics. You know he is famous but no one is sure why.

What is it that people like about Hillary's experience? Her voting record? Her ability to antagonize republicans?

It's time for change. I'm voting Obama

I vote for experience and grace under fire. Hillary has a record of working in the Senate with Republicans. Why do the Republicans hate her so much? Because she is a SMART and COMPETENT woman. Get wise, people. Hillary Clinton is best for our country at this time, despite the fact that she is a woman.

Hilary has not done anything wrong. If her husband (who contributed greatly to the US economy, standing in the world, etc) was not faitful, it is not HER FAULT. Why do people try to attack her for an unfaitful husband. Should not we learned from history that we should not bash victimes? She went through the whole thing with a head up (and covered her broken heart). A little compassion for a smart woman.

Go Hilary ... You are by far the best candidate in this race.

Why is it that every narrow victory for Clinton (i.e. last night's dial-in poll) is some sort of overwhelming endorsement of her inevitability, while Obama's more substantial victories are dismissed as "irrelevant" or not representative?

Mrs. Moynihan, like Mrs. Simon, Mrs. Eagleton, Mrs. Robert Kennedy, Mrs. Kennedy-Schlossberg, Mrs. Carnahan, Governor Sebelius, Governor Napolitano, Senator McCaskill, ..., are excellent judges of character. I have the highest respect for each of them.

They didn't have to, but they came right out and did what was right.

I remember how moved I was to hear that the women in the South had aided the civil rights movement. Women helped other women when the protesters were not riding the buses or going to the stores; they made themselves heard, and they marched.

How fantastic it is when women use their considerable political power to fight for what is right.

Could you imagine HOW BAD it would be if that power had been misused, if they had worked for the other side, and history recalled these women to have fought AGAINST progress, for the WRONG purposes, for SELFISH GAIN rather than greater good? What a stain it would be to have fought an UNNECESSARY, ill-begotten, or ill-conceived battle!

Bill Clinton is no Michelle Obama.

The Democratic party needs to realize that Hillary Clinton has no chance of winning the general election. She will polarize the independents and moderate republicans that WOULD vote for Obama. Sadly, I think she has more than a good chance of winning the primary.

But one thing is certain: If she does win, I'm voting Republican in the general election. And I know many others who are going to do the same.

I think I will vote for Hell-ery. Bill will become head of UN and Satan will be enthroned. The Messiah will come end the whole mess shortly thereafter.

I swear if Clinton wins, this long time Democrat will not even bother voting in the general elections. Its really hard to pick the lesser of 2 evils.

Hillary Clinton is too NAIVE to be president, she believed the white house about Iraq, which led to war and tanked the economy, I don't want that kind of experience.
