Over at the National Review, where they cannot wait for a train wreck in the Democratic Party, Jim Geraghty is reporting on a friend's "secondhand" information about Hillary Clinton's possession of a "metaphorical bombshell'' ready to drop on Barack Obama.
"If a Bombshell Will Drop in Pennsylvania,'' he writes at National Review Online, "It Will Drop a Week From Now.''
Big "if.''
"A smart political operative said within earshot of me yesterday that if Hillary has more metaphorical bombshells to drop on Obama — and this operative has heard secondhand that she does — she'll do so between April 16, the date of her next debate with Obama, and April 22, Pennsylvania's primary day,'' he writes. "The timing, of course, is so she doesn't get asked about it by the moderator or confronted by Obama.
"Hillary's numbers have actually been inching up a bit in the Keystone state lately. At the beginning of the month, Public Policy Polling shocked the world by suggesting Obama was ahead by two points. Their latest poll puts Hillary up by 3. In the Insider Advantage poll, Hillary's lead has increased from three percent to ten percent. In SurveyUSA, she's gone from leading by 12 to leading by 18. Some other polls show no change or a slight loss of ground.''

I'm glad you're repeating that secondhand hearsay story about McCain supposedly blowing up at Cindy at some old campaign event. That one was even below the swamp's liberal standards.

I hate to say this but I agree with Jeff, repeating second hand hearsay is about par for the course for the National Review, they're about as credible as Fox Noise Channel and drug addict Rush are.

Well, this appears to be a gossip article, it does bring up an off-hand point: I'm sure the HRC campaign has spent far too much resource and treasure trying to dig up dirt on Obama. This is just the type of person that she, and the people she surrounds herself with, stands for. Change is LONG overdue.

The Clintons get more desperate and more sleazy as the days go by. I just hope that someone will dig up the latest sleaze on the Clintons and bombshell her dead campaign into the political grave yard, where it belongs. I used to LOVE the Clintons, but they have made d*mn sure that they take the lowest road possible, burning bridges and constituents along the way. To know any Clinton is to know you'd better watch your back! how utterly disgusting. I hope her bombshell blows up in her face and I hope she goes back to the senate so wounded, that she makes Larry Craig and David Vitter seem like the King and Queen of the prom! What a wicked lot, those Clintons, their surrogates, operatives and determination to destroy this party!

I think the Peter Paul trial coming up for the discovery phase in May in Californioa needs to be more vetted. How could Hillary ( as a material witness for Bill ) possibly tackle the role of a President no less, with all of this hanging over her head like an albatross or a scarlet letter? Senator Clinton and her campaign team, including Bill, conspired to defraud the U.S. Senate and the Federal Election Commission (FEC) by failing to report the true cost of a $2 million Hollywood campaign fundraising event in August 2000.
Yes, the discovery phase of this trial begins this MAY 2008.
