Add golf to the list of recreational sports that Barack Obama has not mastered.
It started with bowling.
Asked about the senator's weekend of rest and relaxation after clinching the Democratic presidential nomination, his spokesman had this to say about a golf outing:
"They went to a golf course, and they swung golf clubs,'' said campaign spokesman Robert Gibbs, appearing on MSNBC's Morning Joe, "but I don't think it was real pretty.''
The senator also "hosted a slumber party for his new seven-year-old... They had a slumber party,'' Gibbs said, adding that Obama also "went for a bike ride with his wife and kids and some neighbors... He had a nice, relaxing weekend.''
Back to business today, where Obama is addressing the economy today in North Carolina, one of the red states that the Democrat hopes to turn blue in November.
Asked about Hillary Clinton's concession speech over the weekend, Gibbs said: "Obviously, I think she gave a tremendously eloquent and powerful speech... and a powerful endorsement for Sen. Obama.''
Asked about Clinton's potential as a running mate, he said, "I would think she'd be on anybody's list.'' Asked about Bill Clinton's -- some would say over the top -- involvement in his wife's campaign, Gibbs said: "I don't think it's any surprise that he wasted to see his wife successful... and was aggressive doing so.''
Will there be a place for Bill Clinton in the Obama campaign?
"We certainly hope so, yeah.''
His golf game -- and his Mulligan -- is famous.

This is something I can relate with the Senator on: my golf scors and my bowling score are about the same, and neither are good.

Terry,
I with you on this one. A great line I heard once is: "Golf was created by the same people who think music comes out of a bagpipe."

"He WASTED to see his wife successful?" What exactly does that mean? Just 'cause this is a blog doesn't mean you shouldn't proofread.
And what's the comment supposed to mean about Obama's "new seven-year-old." This a new kid he didn't have before?

So now in addition to not knowing anything about running a country, he can't play golf nor bowl! At least he can't hide the fact that he can't play golf the way he has hood-winked the Dems!

Good. Then he won't have to pretend to give it up like Dubya did.

Bush's golf score is excellent. I'd rather have a president who reads books in his spare time than one who plays golf.

Granblvd,
Guess you liked Reagan but not Clinton.

So he can't golf, he can't bowl, what a regular guy!!! Anyone see the pictures of him riding his bike this weekend? What a dork, it looked like a scene out of Revenge of the Nerds.

Do the people who have a continuing crtisim of Senator Obama have a life? When we are on the verge of war with IRAN, getting thrown out of Iraq by their leaders, running out of money to pay for homes, food, gas and not able to comfort the poor-working-class and homless fellow Americans--do we really have the time to focus on Senator Obama's private life. Maybe we need a daily diary from all of the selfish complainers

I'm with you on that one. They even followed him to the Virgin Island looking for something to talk about. Obviously some people have their priorities up side down and need to get a life of their own.
