This just in from ABC News. At a Capitol Hill Club breakfast today, former Bush senior aide Karl Rove called Sen. Barack Obama "cooly arrogant."
"Even if you never met him, you know this guy," Rove said, Christianne Klein reports.
"He's the guy at the country club with the beautiful date, holding a martini and a cigarette that stands against the wall and makes snide comments about everyone who passes by."
Rove also said he was heading to the White House for a chat with the president, Klein reports.

Sounds like Karl is pissed off that there wasn't a covenant to keep Obama out of his country club. His club is for the "right kind of people", you know ,folks like John and Cindy, old money WASPs from the better part of town.

Imagine if Republicans treated everyone like their fellow members of Country Clubs. Their motto seems to be, "leave no Country Club member behind. To heck with the inner city urban, hip hop kids" The Country Club set will work hard to make sure Maxwell IV gets the coveted internship during his summer break but they could care less that the future generations are crammed into classrooms with dated textbooks and little to no access to computers.

This is one of the most accurate assesments of Obama I have heard yet. He is an elitist snob who cannot identify with anyone but himself. Everyone who disagrees with him is either bitter and backward. Mr. Obama is the only reason I cling to my guns. I need to be able to prevent the government tyranny that Obama hopes to implement. As Thomas Jefferson once said, "The beauty of the Second Amendement is that you won't need it until someone tries to take it away."

No. He's not. Unless you're a moron and you fall for his nonsense.
That's what really is going on. It's the dumbing down of America. That's why so many people fall for so many salespeople that will sell them crap on a spoon.
And while we're on the subject, stop buying all of Bush's "legacy" talk.
People are feeling the pain NOW during his term. After he's gone, the next president - be it McCain or Obama - and the next Congress might take the right steps to get the country back on the right course. None of that will have anything to do with Bush.
So don't judge a president by what happens AFTER he leaves office. Judge him by how you feel after he's been in in office for a few years (recall Reagan's admonishment of the Carter presidency, "Are you better off now than you were 4 years ago?").

Bob Roberts, I hope the Swamp tech people are calling the FBI with your ISP address right now. You just threatened the life of a sitting US Senator.

I like that, I have been trying to come up with a description of Obama since the beginning, and that is better than any I have come up with so far. Way to go. Especially the cig.

It sounds like Rove is just upset that someone let Obama into the country club at all. He's not the "right kind of people" like John and Cindy, the true elitists.

Rover is that overweight, nerdy guy from high school, the one in the AV club with the plastic pocket protector and the stash of girlie mags hidden where he thinks his mom can't find them in the garage.

How very Junior High School of Karl. Has he witnessed Obama in a country club doing this? No? Just made it up? Well, I guess we shouldn't be surprised this came from the king of smear.

Karl Rove complains about some mythical James Bond dude's "snide comments?"
The man behind the lesbian rumors about Ann Richardson? The man spreading lies about John McCain's "black baby" in the 2000 primary? Now he doesn't like snide?
This characterization is so 1950s it is laughable.
Posted by: athena | June 23, 2008 7:05 PM
Come on Karl and Republics; You invented the 'No blacks no Jews no women' rules down at the country club.

Wouldn't ya just love to b!@c# slap Turdblossom silly?
Posted by: C.Morris | June 23, 2008 7:12 PM
This coming from Rove, not exactly the social doyen of the Bush set. The external skills of a weasel. The Bruce of the administration...

It is no wonder we are in the pickle we are today. If this is the sort of advice President Bust recieved from his chief political advisor it is no wonder political debate reached such lows.
Posted by: Joseph | June 23, 2008 7:36 PM
And we all know what common folk "Turdblossom" and "W" are right?
Never catch them at some country club...
Posted by: Change Agent | June 23, 2008 7:36 PM
KKK Karl--You can crawl back under that rock now. Your legacy is that you helped elect the worst president in the nation's brief history. Take your scorched-earth politics and choke on 'em, scumbag.
Posted by: dt | June 23, 2008 8:08 PM
Country club guys? Would that include "elitists" like Bush, Cheney, Rove and John McCain? The same McCain who with his second wife is worth hundreds of millions of dollars, who has access to two private jets, who owns eight homes stateside and two-three vacation homes abroad?

This is the perfect description of Obama... he of the closed to the press and public fundraisers, the man who never met a corporate donor he didn't like, the guy who derisively dismisses the working class as people who "cling" to their guns and religion.
And he just can't get ahead of McCain on the polls. Gee, I wonder why?

TurdBlossom is betraying some deep psychotic break here with this statement.
Was he laughed at and ridiculed in a past life?
How many other imaginary chimeras are mocking him from the sidle lines as Karl sweeps past the elitists masses?
Posted by: TheLeninSisters | June 23, 2008 9:06 PM
Hmmm, sounds like pasty Mr. Rove is a little jealous. You think?
What I can't understand is why he isn't making his statements from a jail cell.

I bet Hannity will not discuss this on "FOX", nor JMcshame statement proud of his country when he was unable to return to the USA.
Thanks, Dan Abrams, now put it on YouTube and FACEBOOK!!!

Rove is a freak. I'm glad to know he considers Mrs Obama attractive though. The GOP hit squad is beyond the pale this year. Obama 2008

Jealous and delusional. Susan I agree that this man and several other key members of the Bush administration should be in jail. Unfortunately the world isn't perfect. A fact that Barack Obama will know all to soon, when he is elected president. Obama 2008

That's funny! Didn't his silver-spoon fed, Ivy League legacy former boss Dubya call him Turdblossom? Do you think Karl still has hard feeling about getting fired by that rich country club raised idiot who used to make up snide nicknames for his staffers?
Posted by: Tom O | June 24, 2008 12:16 PM
Yeah, Rove's comment is old news:
