Here are a few Washington events of note for Wednesday, July 9.

The G-8 Summit in Japan is concluding and President Bush is flying back to Washington.

A Senate Homeland Security subcommittee is holding a hearing on Medicare payments tied to deceased doctors.

The House Veterans Affairs Committee is holding a hearing on the VA's continued use of a suicide-inducing drug for veterans with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.
