Meet Liisa May

Liisa May, who edits copy for both Newsday and Newsday.com, grew up in a small Levittown cape on a half-acre. The developer sold it with a modern form of insulation he called dead airspace. After a subzero winterwithfrost on the interior, her father filled the dead airspace with rock wool. May took her journalist’s vows of accuracy, clarity and brevity more than three decades ago, and has in her time as a newpaperwoman found that her dark brown hair has become blonde.
