Former Jet Vinny Testaverde selling Oyster Bay Cove home

Heisman Trophy winner and former New York Jets quarterback Vinny Testaverde is putting his Oyster Bay Cove mansion on the market for $6.995 million.

The 13,000-square-foot brick center-hall Colonial sits on four-plus acres and has six bedrooms, seven full baths and two half-baths. The 1,000-square-foot master suite has a private balcony, sitting room and Jacuzzi.

Shawn Elliott of Shawn Elliott Luxury Homes & Estates, which is listing the property, says, “The details in this house are unprecedented. In my many years of selling, I have probably never seen anything with such attention to detail and so well maintained.”

It’s not surprising that Elmont native Testaverde, who stands 6 feet 5 inches tall, should live in a home with high ceilings. The entry foyer has a 19-foot ceiling, the lower level has 10-foot ceilings, and the first and second floors both have 9-foot ceilings.

The gated home has every amenity imaginable for the sports fan, including an 800-square-foot gym with sauna and steam room, a movie theater, a video game room, a billiards room, a full basketball court and a sports court. Outdoors, there’s also a cabana, a heated Gunite pool with a 20-foot waterfall, a kiddie pool and an eight-person Jacuzzi.

There’s even a trophy room, but don’t expect Testaverde to leave his Heisman behind. You’ll have to earn that yourself.

wow, that is living large

All this for playing football?

can you find the loser in this group?

CEOs of large U.S. companies last year made as much money from just one day on the job as average workers made over the entire year. These top executives averaged $10.8 million in total compensation, over 364 times the pay of the average American worker, a calculation based on data from an Associated Press survey of 386 Fortune 500 companies.
Paying CEO 100s millions, actors 100s millions, singers 100s millions, sports players 100s millions, corrupt politicans..

Why are you slamming successful people for making money? Blame the government (and the people they purport to represent). Uncle Sugar signs the paychecks. Mr. Testaerde had nothing to do with it. He sold his services in a commodity market and made a fortune. By the way, as a vet, I have to tell you that I knew what the pay was going in. If I didn't want to work for that little, I would have found another occupation. Maybe you should find one also instead of berating successful businessmen.

He also made money through business ventures (Outback Steakhouse). Also, he is rewarded for taking the risk to do these ventures. Through his investments and risks, he has provided many jobs (each outback probably has over 80+ employees) and other opportunities through restaurant suppliers.

True, very true. I'm retired USAF as of 2000 and if staying in was money driven, I would have stayed 4 and left. Now I'm not saying more money would be a bad thing, after all, it's no secret the military compared to the same civilian job, even with benefits are vastly underpaid. But if it was money driven, American soldiers would not be the best in the world. As for the players in pro sports, they will get what ever the market can pay. It might seem inflated but it's the consumer (people like you and I) who enable this to happen. As long as we pay the outrageous prices for tickets and accommodations, that windfall will be passed on to the players.

V-V-Vinny is the man!
I am proud to say that our families are close and all his kids are well adjusted individuals.
It is something to say when a successful business man can balance his family and his work life as well as Vinny.

Cheers!

Hey football. You should post the current list of highest payed NFL players. Dwight Freeney makes more money then everyone on that list.

Secondly, instead of whining about those who had big dreams and make big money, why dont you put some energy into learning how to be successful. Its not rich peoples fault you can't make alot of money. Should they wallow in your dead end life?

Football players make money bc people like us pay money to watch them play football better than anyone of us our capable of. If you want to complain about what US soldiers make, then find something people would pay to watch them do. If someone video taped them at war showing all kinds of brutal things like killing people would probably pay to watch and they could make millions also. Like i would pay $20 to watch a soldier shot you, football, in the head and im sure other people would also. Rather than hating on the football players we pay to watch you should donate your body to our troops and let them torture you then sell the tape. I promise you that the soldier you allowed to do that would make millions.

What is the connection with Vinny and Outback Steakhouse?
