You might see an occasional rental in the village of Ashroken, which sits on an isthmus between Long Island Sound and Northport Bay. But not usually one for $40,000 for the month.

And Janet Pushee, an associate broker of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Northport, found the renter for it.

The Victorian — an oldie but renovated goodie — offers top-of-the-line amenities as well as panoramic views of the Sound. A Trex deck and a heated pool are a fine alternative to hanging out at the beach.

Pushee is unsure if the rental is a record for the area, but it is for her office, she says.
