Thanksgiving reading - and a potential solution to our "Comment Submission Error" problem

Here is the story I wrote for today's Newsday, discussing the competition to acquire CC Sabathia. I think Angels owner Arte Moreno, above, is one of the most interesting characters in this saga. He is not to be taken lightly, by the Yankees or anyone else.
More important, Newsday teammate Bob Glauber just might have come up with the solution for the dreaded "Comment Submission Error." The next time you want to make a comment, press "Control" as you're hitting "Post." It worked for me.
Have a great day.
UPDATE, 8;41 p.m.: First of all, Sandy is taking credit for this new cure to the Comment Submission Error. But second of all, now it isn't working for me. The most success I've had is when I hit refresh so that I get a new code number.
I can't tell you how much I appreciate all of your determination to post your comments. I'm not sure what's worse - trying to post a comment here, or being a Lions fan.
UPDATE, Friday, 9:08 a.m. The Comment Winter Olympics have been postponed this morning due to an under-the-weather child. I hope to have it up tomorrow morning.

Ken, do you feel the Yankees should offer arbitration to Andy Pettitte even though it probably means he will get a raise over the $16 million he earned in 2008? Or, do you think they should stick to the position and risk losing him and actually let him walk?
If the Yankees don't offer Pettitte arbitration they don't get the draft picks if he signs elsewhere. If they do offer it, he will probably accept it and they will pay through the nose for a pitcher no longer worth those big bucks.
I have read that Phil Hughes had two very bad games in the AFL, but he also threw some gems (albeit five innings in length - the max allowed). Hughes seems ready to join the rotation.
Yahoo! Sports Tim Brown is reporting that Padres GM Kevin Towers said last night that he might have identified a 3rd team that would help the Cubs get Jake Peavy. The Cubs don't have the top prospects that the Padres want who can play in the major leagues right now, but a 3rd team could help the Cubs get Peavy.
Yesterday U.S. District Court Judge Susan Illston allow grand jury testimony that include Barry Bonds testimony in the BALCO case to unsealed.
Here a link to the story about it.

Kudos Mr. Glauber.
Who knew you were so computer savvy?
Happy Thanksgiving Ken, Baileywalk, Bob Tufts, Richie G and all the other bloggers.

The documents, however, will not be made public, according to Jack Gillund, a spokesman for U.S. Attorney Joseph Russoniello. He said testimony from the secret grand jury proceedings will remain closely guarded.
Hahahaha!!! That's a good joke for T-day. They'll guard it as well as they did pre-Game of Shadows.
I like how Glauber is getting all the credit for MY solution. Once again it is this way
1) post your comment in the box If it doesn't go through bring it back
2) copy the comment and refresh the page. You might get a new number you might not.
3) hit control press post and wait
According to a Newsday competitor Fuentes has started by asking for 3/30-33. Not to bad a price, and it'll send KRod's price down as well. If the Mets could secure Street, a Funtes/Street tag team could have shades of Orosco/McDowell.
Happy Turkey Day to all. Thanks for providing such a great community Ken.
Thanks for all your blog efforts, posting/comments/private e-mails over the past year, Ken. Thanks, too, to all those out there who participated in the give and take on all the issues we comment on. It got out of hand a few times, but overall has been fun.
Enjoy the day.
Thanks for all of the nice words, guys, and hope everyone had a fun day.
The Fuentes figure is about what was expected. Now it's just a matter of where K-Rod fits.
Jack, I don't think the Yankees should offer arbitration to Pettitte. He'd get something like $18-$19 million that way. I don't think it's unreasonable that they ask him for a slight pay cut. And I'll correct myself if I'm proven wrong, but I don't think the Yankees were banking on getting draft picks out of Pettitte's departure like they were with Abreu.
I don't know which one should get a bailout first. The Big 3 automobile makers GM, Ford and Chrysler or the Detroit Lions who absolutely stink and have been screw up for decades. Perhaps the US government can take the Lions away from the Ford family and run the Lions themseleves.
Not only should the US government should wrestle control of the Lions away from the Ford family, they along with the NFL should ban the Lions from playing host at home to a Thanksgiving Day game until they become a good franchise who can compete for a Super Bowl. I know this has been a traditional for the Lions to play at home on Thanksgiving Day for many years. But at some point we can't have Lions stinking up the joint every year on Thanksgiving Day. Something has to be done about this.
Ken - the Glauber / Sandy fix is flawed...maybe Obama will fix this....
