Trainer's Room

A few wrinkles for tonight's lineup. Carlos Delgado is bothered by a sore right rib cage, so Julio Franco is starting at first base. David Wright is the DH, which means Chris Woodward is at third, and Lastings Milledge moves from the shadow of the Green Monster to Fenway's more spacious rightfield. Xavier Nady still is nursing his bruised right wrist, so Endy Chavez is in left.

Can someone please have Willie Randolph put a leash on Reyes. He is so predictable - he runs every time he is on base. He is hurting the team. He has been getting picked off and thrown out a lot lately. Aggressiveness is good, but recklessness is not.

how is he reckless? david ortiz ran on carols beltrans arm and thats how the red sox tied the game. if he got thrown out ud call it a dumb play and being reckless but since he was safe it was really agressive and a great play. when you steal, sometimes ull get thrown out, it happends. let him keep stealing, hes the catylyst for the offense.

The Mets ran into the hottest team in MLB. Move on. Battle the Yankees and then beat up on the lowly Pirates next week. We have a double digit lead at the halfway point. And hurt players are being able to rest. It doesn't get any better than this! I say let Reyes do whatever he wants.

I'll trade 3 losses to the Red Sox in June for 4 wins against the Sox in October !

MR.MET-A/K/A SHALLOW WHINY WINDBAG GET A GRIP,YOUR MAKING A FOOL OF YOURSELF.TOO MUCH ANGER AND HOSTILITY. GET HELP IT'S NOT TOO LATE

Boston Fan AKA Moron, Idiot or Just Plain Retarded, Which Is It?: If you're going to insult someone, at least use the proper grammar. It's "YOU'RE MAKING A FOOL OF YOURSELF", not "YOUR MAKING A FOOL OF YOURSELF". As far as you calling me a fool , I've got three words for you: Pot, kettle, black. Oh, and when you respond to someone, you really should try doing it in the thread in which they OWNED you. See, when you post in a NEW thread, no one on the thread knows what you're talking about. Well, no one knows what you're talking about anyway, since your grasp of the English language and grammar is on par with a retarded rock, but I digress. As a service to everyone on this board, I will tranlsate all your posts from now on. This one says: "Mr. Met OWNED me on another thread, but because I don't want anyone to go to that thread and see me get verbally pimp-slapped, I'll respond here." Actually, I should have done it all in caps (I see you still haven't mastered the art of moving your pinky an eighth of an inch to shut off your caps, you dolt) like your incoherent ramblings. Eh, maybe next time.

Willie needs to fine tune this team and stop the bleeding from being complacent. They should be playing like they were in 2nd place just a few games out and hungry to take over 1st place. Teams with fat heads = rude awakenings.

It's still too early to get too high or too low about this season. Take a deep breath. This season is almost halfway done. Omar will address needs during July with the idea that many teams in the past have held large leads in Aug. and late Sept. only to see them disappear. The trading deadline is July 31.

A double digit lead is nice this time of year but Omar should be smart enough to realize he can't go into playoffs with a low end of the rotation group as it stands now. Also, with all due respect for what Jose Valentin has done, the season will wear on him so another 2nd baseman should be on the radar. It's all about depth for the 2nd half of the season and beyond.
