Pedro Quickie

Here's the latest on the Pedro Martinez saga ...
Martinez threw an extended bullpen session this afternoon, split into two 30-pitch halves, and reported no problems with his right hip. He also used every pitch except for his cut fastball, and Martinez said he usually doesn't throw it during his side sessions anyway.
Next up for Martinez is a simulated game, which will likely be Saturday, and that puts him on schedule to rejoin the rotation for Braves series in Atlanta, which begins July 28.

There is no crying in baseball....ummm a hip injury. We need you Pedro, don't let the DISABLED LIST be your daddy. No more. Where is Pedro's little midget friend? Where is he when you need him?
Bring the little fella back into circulation and have him be the new batboy for the Mets.
Not only will that rude spectacle sell a few more tickets......but it would inspire Pedro to better health.

That is hilarious. While I ordinarily would not surrender my position as the Mets mascot so easily, I think Pedro's midget would be perfect to replace me. Imagine him with the big baseball head. Sheer brilliance!

Why would they trade Keppinger for another infielder? They should have used him in a package to get another starting pitcher. That kind of stuff irks me

Pedro's little midget friend? Are we talking about Mike Lupica from the Daily Snooze.

I think we got lucky last year missing out on Pedro's annual midseason siesta. He'll be back and ready for the stretch run soon!

As for Keppinger, maybe Minaya made the trade for him. There is certainly no room for him in the Mets infield with Andersen Hernandez in front of him.

Mr. Met, you are too much! Hey if you are the real "Mr Met" I actually introduced myself to you when tickets went on sale in February 2002 at Shea. I was number 36 in line....I stood out all night in that filth to get my tickets. You lamented to me that "you only have one head" that they gave you to use! So that is why you had the brown stain on your nose. You could only do so much with the talcum powder. I really felt bad about the issue.

Are you saying Mr. Met is a brown noser.

Big Dipper: It was just a stain, there was some attempt made to cover it up.
That is all I know. His nose is seven inches long and you can't hide that. Maybe the dry cleaners
don't take those kinds of requests. You know....big friggin' heads.
I feel bad just talking about it.
