Better to be lucky than good, and as this photo indicates, the Mets were neither in last night's 4-2 loss to the Phillies in 10 innings at Citizens Bank Park.
It's only natural to second-guess Willie's use of Guillermo Mota, but really, what were his other choices? In a hitter's park like Citizens Bank, maybe the call was to go with a rested Billy Wagner for two innings and take your chances beyond that. As it turned out, Phillies closer Brett Myers retired six straight before Ryan Howard's walkoff homer, so the Mets didn't do much anyway.

I guess you only post comments that are not critical of you.
Hey RM ... As far as I know, all comments are welcome, as long as they are not obscene. Bring on the criticism.

Note the time of this post: 7:12 East Coast time... I predict an avalanche tonight 12-2 Mets Win, followed by a 7-5 Mets win tomorrow.
Net gain for Phils = O games. :)
Hey Sean, you predicted 12 runs tonight, but once again the Mets did a number 2. 2 runs every night at CBP!? Now that is truly sad. Go Phils!!!
I know, Erod, wishful thinking on my part, I suppose. I usually expect the more talented team to win (The Mets, in this case) but sometimes #2 really does try harder. The Mets played well enough to earn a split, tough luck notwithstanding. Do I think this series will matter in the end? No. It's just postponing the inevitable.
