Ok officially tied.

I am two tired and disgusted watching this team. So if it's tied after sunday. Then let me know what happens.

This team is disgusting!
HEARTLESS!!

Biggest. Bunch. of CHOKING DOGS EVER.

What a disgusting effort against the Cardinals...they quit allowing themsevles to be dominated that way against at best a journeyman pitcher.

Tell Willie to use El Duque this weekend. He has the stomach and guts for this.

BTW just so everybody understands, technically the Phillies are in first place as they won the season series and if both teams were to be in the playoffs at the end of action on Sunday evening, the Phillies would get the division champion seed while the Mets would be seeded as the wild card.

As I lay curled up in the fetile position next to the toilet last night to accommodate my random bouts of stress vomit I felt all was lost. I could not even keep down the tums I had inhaled like a bucket of popcorn. Now I sit at my desk at work feeling I havent slept in a month and openly admit I have questioned my Mets faith. The red blinking light on my hospital suicide watch bracelet is a constant reminder of the pain our Mets have put me through in the past month.

Then this morning I had the joy of reading a mass of articles lambasting the Mets which poured iodine in my already bleeding wounds. The texts last night followed by a live at the game voice mail from a Philly fan had me kicking out the screen of my window and standing on the ledge. Then I read an article on Espn called "Shea it ain't so", and something snapped. ITS NOT OVER!!!!

There is a reason we are called the Miracle Mets... There is a reason we are called the Amazing Mets... Our team has made the unthinkable happen when their backs were against the wall. There is no reason to believe this situation will be any different. In my time as a sports fan i have seen that when ever Philadelphia fans start to believe in their team it has let them down. Let me tell you... those fans are believing right now and it will be there downfall. The Phillies play hard only to prove that the fans shouldn't boo them, but when those fans start cheering and "TRULY BELIEVE" it shall suck away their power like Delilah cutting the hair of Samson.

After all the heartache I have endured over the last month our victory in these next three days will be that much more sweet. So to the Mets nation I apologize for my lapse of faith. With the power of the "Miracle" on our side and my knoweldge of the "Let you down Failing Phils" my faith is restored. I am saved and I believed again. YA GOTTA BELIEVE!!!! LETS GO METS!!!!!!!!!!!!

As I lay in bed having switched off the game and watching the DVR of 'Kids Nation' I realized all was lost. I could not care less as the tear trickled down my face (not for the Mets) but, for the poor little boy sitting behind the barn crying "I'm only eight years old in the third grade, I can't handle this". Now I sit at my desk wondering if the bar I go to tonight is going to show the Islanders vs. Rangers game because I can not bring myself to watch Los Muts again. The beeping of my hospital issued morphine machine is a reminder that if you drink or digest enough substances this will pass.

This morning I read the same articles and received text messages last night from other Mets fans that said 'They suck!'. They feel the same way we all do! After the text messages I went to the kitchen, made myself a bowl of trix and went straight to sleep.

The next two paragraphs of you well written story and pep talk get to positive for me to spin.

So...all I will say is that yes we are all down. They are not out and you are right. It is going to take a miracle this weekend. I hope they have it in them. After work on the way to the bar I will stop by the church and light some candles. I think we all believe but, our boys are not making it easy.

Now I want everyone to get up! Got to your window and scream....

LETS GO METS!
LETS GO METS!
LETS GO METS!

I believe in the METS we have a knack of coming up big when we have to . We also played down to our competition and that has caused my heart to crumble.

We can win 'cause we have to 'nuff said.

The Mets are a lot like the Yanks were in May. When you get hitting you get no pitching, when you get pitching you can't hit, and when you get both you can't play defense. Randolph ought to call his buddy Joe and ask for some advise. I highly doubt it will work though. This is kind of fun watching the Mets self destruct while the Yanks are getting primed for a run at the World Series. I hope you stinkin Mets fans enjoyed taunting the Yanks fans during inter-league play back in May; remember payback is a bitch! I got my Marlins jersey on now, I hope they stomp you this weekend. Boo hoo mets fans!

So you coming here talking your trash makes you the bigger man right?

It's early friend, imagine losing to the Cleveland Indians before you take off for a parade and get sized for a ring!

If the Mets do not make the playoffs they need to take a hard look at Rick Peterson. If Rick Downs could be let go as hitting instructor and I feel the hitting was in better shape at that time than the pitching is right now, why isn't the media on HIM???

I wonder if anyone will even show up to watch this weekend. Maybe if the Mets knew that someone cared they would actually be trying.

Are you kidding?

"Maybe if the Mets knew that someone cared they would actually be trying."

Let it go man, they have broken attendance the last two years in a row.

Its not about baseball anymore! If it were, we would be in big trouble, because we are not very good anymore. It is about who wants to win more. I guaruntee that the Phillies are going to be feeling just as much if not more pressure than the Mets. The Mets need to stop trying to do to much, draw some walks, not try to make amazing play in the field...etc. They are a better team than Florida, and if they get back to being patient, they will be fine...until they lose first round in the playoffs.

If we get to Monday at what time are these tie breaker games scheduled to be played? In order to get to Monday I feel Philly has to lose at least two and probably three and I still think at hot as they have been there is an outside possibility the weak pitching staff of theirs will run out of gas. Of course with our record against them a one game playoff is a nightmare scenario in itself. But at this point that we would be fortunate to say the least to even get to Monday. Also I would prefer a one game playoff against philly or whoever to be on the road

I am only stating the obvious; did that look like a sellout last night? No way, I watched the game and I could not believe the number of empty seats. There is no way their were 48,900 fans as announced.

Hey, no hard feelings, I actually hope the Mets win. I would like to see another Subway series. I am just busting chops. You know, just like mine were busted back in May. Peace!

A vendor called me this morning and asked if I wanted two tickets to tomorrow's funeral. I knew what he meant, but decided to pass. I have more important things to do this time of year than waste my time at a stinky, decrepit old ballpark (thank you Robert Moses; may you be turning over wherever they planted you) watching a bunch of overpaid chockers blow another game. At least when I'm at home, I can turn off the tv, or switchover to something more enjoyable and entertaining like re-runs of Doogie Howser or C-SPAN.

Adios Los Mets! At least you can boast that you clinched second place in the NL L-East last night!

Its all good Yanks fan. The number announced was probably tickets sold not actual attendance on top of that it was a make up game from back in...ah i forget June?

I can cay without a problem that the Yanks and their fans deserve it right now. They did what they had to do. If they get Cleveland in the first round they are moving on and have a great shot.

This is my first time posting on your blog as I'm not into the trash talking garbage and kicking someone when they're down. I'm not a Met hater. Hell, I'm not even a Red Sox hater. I hate the Angels!!! Anyway, that's not for here.

I wish that I could say to all of you that all the Mets need to do is to take care of business and win all of their games, but now they need some help. I feel, as I'm sure that all of you do, is that the rotation has to give Willie 7 good innings before turning it over to the pen. Man, those guys are gassed! Willie has no one to turn to. He just doesn't have the bullets for the gun (Thanks a lot Omar!) He has to trot someone out there and hope for the best. You guys are hitting fine, but the pen is just not getting the job done. Somebody there has to grab the bull by the horns and get that team to kill the stupid Marlins this weekend.

None of this is Willie's fault.

I wish you guys luck and I'll be pulling for you.

Oh, one other thing:

Don't let the press get you down.

We all know how "reliable" they are.

Stupid fish wrap hacks!!!

Definition of a miracle:

The Mets winning all three.
The Phillies winning all three.
The Phillies licking their chops.
The Mets maintaining their cool.
The Mets winning in Philly and ripping the heart out of Jimmy Rollins like a "finishing move" in Mortal Kombat.

I agree with Greg Roth. You echoed my sentiments completely. Yankees fans are on here because they are scared of the Mets. And nothing would make them more happy then their biggest threat being out of the running through self-destruction.

You Gotta Believe!

Your season has come...

What is all this Yankee Met fan peace?. If we do choke it we deserve to hear it every day from the front running Yank supporters until such time or year we win something. That is how it would and should be if the shoe were on the other foot. This is New York folks. If the Yanks win the series Met fans should respect but hate the Yankee players and not respect and hate most Yankee fans

Thanks Ed. But my Mom and Dad stopped talking down to me years ago. It's called adult conversation that doesn't have to be about hating another NY team.

Reply to Mets Fan: After I posted it I realized "hate" with what goes in society today was to strong a word. I meant old fashioned "sports hate" which does not mean I want actual harm to come to people. I just meant that if we do not win and the Yanks win the series or the other way around there should be big time "needling" going on. I do not find anything wrong with the saying my favorite team is the Mets or whoever is playing the Yankees that day and I do not find it wrong if Yankee supporters feel the opposite. I grew up in that atmosphere it was fun (defiantly less fun in times like these) and it gave New York fans a certain edge over fans in one team towns. This sense of rivalry many times did not mean childish talk like the “you suck” or calling the Yankees “Stankees” internet type conversation but was the spark for long detailed discussions about baseball. I have noticed not only in this forum but in general this attitude has changed somewhat. I guess maybe it was 9/11 or it is just a generational thing. Root for whomever you want

THEY'RE DEAD TO ME
