I know catchers who do a night game don't do a day game the next day, but Pelfrey has been awful when Schneider wasn't caught him. I don't expect the Mets to be good today.
Your telling me Alou can't play today, in a pretty critical game, after getting tossed in the 5th, thats a joke. What makes it even worse is that we all know Alou is going to DH all weekend over in the Bronx so why does he need the extra rest? I just don't understand it, but I'm starting not to understand a lot about this team and it's manager the more I see.
G: You make a very good point.
hey david why does willie change the lineup all the time ............ castillo is hitting second ..... willie puts heilman in a big spot after vargas had 96 pitches why not keep the guy in ......... also why not bring in scott scoulenwise ... cant spell the name he has a 174 era and yes hes a lefty but why not bring him in ....... the mets are almost 500 and every met fan thinks that willie is killing this team .. moving church all over the lineup keep the guy second ..i think the mets are 7-3 when he hits second ... david please help me !!!!!
Anonymous.....Shoenweiss was unavailable to pitch last night because he was in the hospital for most of the day with what he thought was appendicitus. I think big Scotty Shoenweiss should be available today, but who knows anymore, it's getting to the point where you can't make this stuff up.
What Willie should have done was bring Joe Smith in, I mean he ended up doing it anyway or as soon as Heilman walked Willie Harris he should have pulled him.
The main problem is that there's just no sense of urgency with this team.
G good point i feel that after it was 2-1 willie was like ok heilman can get out of this .. and he didnt ... and willlie waited way to long ..... if it was 6-2 mets keep him in and get out of the jam with a few runs givne up .... but no .... it was 2-1 and we were losing .... and im sick and tired of willie taking guys out wiht 95-105 pitches in the 7th .... we need to go deep and there is a reason why the mets might have the second most relief appearances in mlb history this year .... something like 530 .. the stat was a few games ago on sny ..... but willie is killing me and he is just stupid so far in the last 38 games ...but i do like how hey were booing him last night ...... i went to the 6-3 win .... it was sweet ....
Well i am mistaken. One of the best pitching performances for any Mets pitcher this year and they have to ruin it by not doing anything except strike out against a guy that was recalled from the minors and had a era of over 11 before the game. Good job guys. Those 9 SO's were impressive.
Bottom of the 9th with the 4th, 5th and 6th hitters up. Let's do it!!!
