J.J. Putz already at work
Give J.J. Putz this much credit. He's already in the bullpen right now working on his delivery. It's obvious that something is wrong -- just check out today's story by my colleague Arthur Staple -- so maybe the problem can be fixed.
Then again, Putz already has received a cortisone shot for a bone chip in his elbow, so it's not like he's completely healthy either.

The velocity is there. It's just the location of the fastball and the ineffectiveness of the splitter that is the problem. The splitter just has not been that jaw dropping pitch that he had in Seattle of 2007 and the end of 2008.
