Working At It
Nobody likes to lose in spring training. We saw Ozzie go through this last year. He is not going to jeopardize his need to see players to win a ballgame in spring training and a lot of managers are not like that. Most of the teams who are really trying hard in March to win games are second division clubs who are trying to improve and impress their fans to sell some tickets for the regular season. Ozzie just wants to see all this players. It sure worked out well for him last year and I think in the next week or ten days you'll see a different MO so to speak.
I love what he's done. He has seen all his players, he knows what they can do, and more importantly, he knows what they can't do. That's what you have to in baseball - find out what your players can't do and then don't ask them to do it.

I absolutely love the White sox and you guys. Ive been watching the white sox since the 1990 season, and I fell in love from the first game i saw! I unfortunatly am from Des Moines Iowa and I only get to see the white sox on WGN and that isnt very often it seems like. But Go Sox and U CAN PUT IT ON THE BOARD, YES!!!!!!!!!!!

Hawk/DJ's Baseball Blog....................yes!
I agree no fans should take our record as an indication of future success. If anyone were to look beyond a boxscore, they'd realize the pitchers typically losing our spring training games late are those competing for a job.
Today's Cub game was probably our best of the year. Pitching did well and offense showed up.

As you can see by my name, i am very Irish. I loved seeing players wear green, it really makes me feel proud. Anyway, like you said, the record is no indication of the actual season playout. Afterall, we were 14-18 last spring, and then 99-63 at the end, what a difference.

Hawk,
I agree with you... Ozzie is merely doing what ozzie does- putting pieces together. Regardless of our spring record, I am certain everything will be in place come the regular season-- and we wont be blowing these 9th inning leads as we have been in the spring.
On another note, I've been a sox fan all my life but sadly have to live in Los Angeles for business. I subscribe to MLB.tv and watch the sox and you guys every day. I appreciate your dedication to the broadcasts and wish both you and DJ the best. GO SOX from Hollywood!

Well, I agree, I think that this game was the turning point for the season and I hope all goes well. We can't look too far ahead though or we'll find ourselves slipping and possibly just not making it. We need to focus on one game or one series and make sure that we do all that we absolutely can to take this again! GO WHITE SOX!!

That's what makes Ozzie the smartest coach in baseball today.
We has a different team this year, so we cannot expect the same results as last year, but with Ozzie at the help, we have more hope this year than for almost a century!
If anyone can put the best team in baseball together Ozzi can!
GO CHICAGO WHITE SOX, STILL THE UNDEFEATED WORLD CHAMPIONS!
