Brian Anderson
Brian Anderson is going through some bumps right now and that's going to happen in your first year as a regular. When you go through tough times, it seems like you are 0-2 or 1-2 every time you step in the box.
The best thing to do is to try and clear his mind right now. There is a tendency sometimes for a young player to let a little panic or chaos at this time to set in. I still think he'll be OK.

Hawk, I know we have some veterans on the team to lead guys like Brian Anderson. However, do you ever get the chance to pass along your wisdom to the young guys? I think it could be of tremendous value to them. You guys are the best!! -Dawn

what is the best club house spread after a game you had during your career and why do they bother to serve food when players usually go out after the game

I undestand your point but I think they should send him to the minors to build his confidence. I was at the game last Friday against the Blue Jays and we could have won or atleast in the game if he made a hit. I think he was on twice with the bases loaded. He didnt do anything. I think he was 0 for something that night.

It's nice to see the White Sox organization and fans know how to properly handle a rookie. If Brian Anderson were a Cub, they'd already be booing, like they did with Corey Patterson. It's hard to fill the shoes of someone like Aaron, and there has to be a ton of pressure on Brian right now, most of it self-inflicted. Let him play, and we'll evaluate him later, after he's had some at-bats under his belt. Remember, Aaron struggled early, too.

I have to admitt I am a little nervous about Brian. Do you think, since he is so young, he should keep playing or should Ozzie sit him? Does sitting him get it in his head even more then going out there and trying to play through the rough time?
Also thank you for your kindness after the Sunday game in KC, the picture turned out great.

Brian Anderson is not ready. Anyone can see that. That muffed flyball in Detroit; poor hitting; poor pitch selection.
He is just simply overmatched.
Tell Ken to find a journeyman centerfielder somewhere.
Brian needs a few more years at the AAA level. No need to rush him or he'll turn into another Borchard.

Hey, guys. I've been a Sox fan since I was a kid in the 60's. I've lived in Houston since '83, and have followed Hawk's broadcasts for years on WGN. I saw the last game of the Series at Minute Maid last year--it was a great night. I've got a question--what ever happened to Floyd Robinson and Gary Peters? They were two of my favorite players as a kid.
