Game Notes For Friday

*The Sox hold the edge over the Cubs in the series since its inception in 1997 27-24.

*The White Sox have pounded NL pitching during interleague play this year, scoring 7.67 runs per game (2nd most in MLB) en route to 12-3 record.

*The Sox have spent most of the season chasing Detroit and have been out of 1st for 53 days this season, unlike last year when they went wire-to-wire on top.

*Jim Thome's bomb into the river at Pittsburgh yesterday was his 50th HR of interleague play making him the ML leader by a wide margin over Carlos Delgado (43).

*Jacque Jones has had success against White Sox pitching - his 19 HRs agains the Sox are the most he's hit against any team.
