Central Air
The Sox are seeing this year what their current opponents, the Toronto Blue Jays, face every year - life in a division where two other teams are having outstanding years. With the Tigers owning the best record in baseball and the Twins coming off that amazing two months, the Sox now know what it's like for the Jays having to put up with the Red Sox and the Yankees every year.
Add to it the fact that the Cleveland Indians are a very talented team who are having a down year and the on-the-rise Kansas City Royals, and you can see easily why the AL Central is the toughest division in baseball this year. I think we're all going to have to get used to that one.

DJ,
Great point about the competitiveness within the AL Central. The Pirates are my National League team and it seems as though that the NL Central was the powerhouse division last year in the 2005 season. I guess the central is where it's at. I give kudos to the Blue Jays. Their pitching other than "Doc" Halladay (as you and Hawk called him during today's telecast on WGN) isn't solid, but their offense is one of the most powerful that I've seen in recent years. Their lineup is stacked with great hitters and I believe they will overtake the Yankees and Boston if they get a couple more good arms, both in the rotation and in the bullpen. They really have the potential to be a dominating club. I hope the Sox keep up the good baseball they've been playing and I'm looking forward to seeing how they perform over the next few weeks against the tops teams in the AL. Go Sox!
