Fall Fever

There's bound to be a playoff atmosphere and intensity in Detroit these next few days and no team is more ready for it than the White Sox.

Their experience from their postseason run last year, plus the huge number of close games they played throughout makes this a very familiar situation.  You can believe that Ozzie will have them ready for the task at hand.

As we've preached all season, getting good starting pitching is absolutely essential.  The Sox have done very well against the Tigers all season - it's a case of matchups and those have favored the White Sox throughout the year.  Hopefully, they can dig deep and play solid baseball, because the atmosphere will not intimidate them.

Regardless of what happens, there is still plenty of baseball left this year, but this is a great opportunity to add a little tension to a Tiger team that has struggled for the past two weeks.

Dear Hawk,

While reading you're synopsis regarding the Detroit series,I do agree with you're opinion, but only to an extent.

I believe the Twins series would give the White Sox fans, the ability to see if our team was still a playoff contender.

Although our pitching is irratic, and at times our offense has sputtered, as fans we have to wonder our we truly a playoff team? At thirty-eight years of age,I've been a Sox fan since I had the ability to watch television, yet I've never witness such a distracted team as I did in the Twins series this weekend.

As the media and some fans would say, this is Ozzie's fault do to his antics. In my opinion this is much larger then the players, and coaches.

As a Sox fan,I truly want to believe where a playoff team, yet as an outsider looking in we all have to wonder.

Thank You,

Tony Sottile

Dear Hawk,

I am a lifelong, diehard, SOX fan, living in Tampa Bay. I have the subscription to MLB on cable TV. I am forced to listen to the announcers on FSN more often than you and D.J. Tonight I can't stand it. They had the nerve to say that if Joe Crede played in Detroit every game, his average wouldn't be over 230. They said his fly out tonight would have been an easy homer at US Cellular.
They were knocking Ozzie too before he was thrown out. I'd almost rather watch the Gameday internet updates than FSN! I wish I could hear you every game!!
GO SOX!!! Cindy Cullotta

Hawk.. plz tell me why the sox have stopped playing small ball.. thats what made them so good last year. thats the managers responsibility.. why is ozzie making so many line up changes last year he started the best 9 players. this yr has has second stringers starting and it has messed up the consistency of this team. no team has 25 starters.. too much managing and not enough wanna, thanks, love your announcing
