Ozzie Guillen On The State Of The Sox

White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen talked before the series opener with the Yankees about the state of his ballclub and the task ahead of them in the next two months as they try to win a playoff spot.

Ozzie Guillen Looks At The Sox And The Race

I am attempting to watch the Yankees vs. Sox game at the moment, but I have to say your commentators sure are making it hard.

This is seriously the most disgusting display of hometown flag-waving I've ever seen in my life - even worse than the team that calls the Cubs.

I hate to be negative, but I am old enough to remember when commentators called a game and simply provided play by play, facts about the players, and interesting color information. This fanboy display is out of control, and WGN should be ashamed.

If Chicago's nickname is "White Sox", why are the players wearing "Black Sox" in the current game? Doesn't years of tradition mean anything any more?

As a lifelong Sox fan I would like to say that this team has certainly given a stellar performance. By that I mean they have truly played the game as it was meant to be played--win or die trying. They give it their all. From Ozzie on down the line--players and coaches alike. I have attended several games this year and I've enjoyed every single one of them because this team is truly in a league of their own. They've got class!
By the way Hawk and DJ keep up the good work. You make the game informative and fun! As for all of those cynics out there who are
on the gloom and doom wagon just remember one thing its never over till it's over. GO SOX!
