PowerBall
It's interesting to watch a guy like Paul Konerko continue to produce, even while he's in a bit of a power drought.
Hitting home runs is like hitting a golf ball a long way - it's a state of mind. When you don't have that state of mind, yet you can get in a ballgame against major league pitching and you can still get your hits by going to right and right-center as a right-handed hitter, that's outstanding. The power swing will come back to you, but in the meantime, you continue to be productive.
That's what we've seen from Konerko in this stretch and that's the mark of a good hitter.

IM THE FIRST ONE TO COMMENT! WHOOT! CARLY CARLY CARLY! Whoot there it is! Whoot there it is! Anyway when I play on my baseball team (not to be cocky) I hit about 50 HR and get IBBs a lot. People know me as the best on my squad and since I'm pitched around so much when I am pitched to I lose my stroke a bit. But usually a week or s later I have the illustrious 5 HR game. (NTBC)I have about 5 of those 5 HR games. They usually get me out of my longball drought. People want me to play proffesional softball, but I say no because having to pitch underhand (NTBC but I have a nasty slider and curve and a deadly fastball and a changeup that will get you off balance). I pitch overhand and I pitch well, but when I pitched underhand in this charity softball game I totally stunk. Got knocked up for eight runs in four innings. In my usual nine inning games for my team (The Dragonflies) my ERA is 0.51. Well, I'm talking too much. Bye!

Hey Hawk,
Why doe Ozzie keep trotting out Makoviak when Anderson is such a superior Defensive fielder? Doesn't pitching and defense go together? Plus Anderson is hitting better now. Please help because it drives me crazy. Ozuna in left Makoviak in left equals bad defense. Please help.
Bob from Homewood. Go Soxxxx.

Hawk, you're right about a baseball team being hungry. The Twins and Tigers are the hungry ones. The White Sox are about as hungry as a guy who's just finished a 7 course dinner!

IF Anderson plays center tonight the sox win. It seems that every time Makowiak plays center at least one run scores because he did not catch a flyball. Tonight it was 3. When are you going to start giving ozzie some static for all the poor moves he has made this year.
