Black Jack's Back
Hawk Harrelson will miss tonight's game on WGN. Hawk was the featured guest at a special "Voices Of The Game" seminar at the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY, earlier today. For more on the interview with Hawk and author Curt Smith, visit the www.baseballhalloffame.org.
Former Sox star pitcher Jack McDowell does us a big favor and fills in tonight. When he's not following baseball, Jack is actually working on a specialty line of baby clothing with his wife and knits the baby hats for the outfits himself. To see more and get a glimpse of Jack's daughter Molly, visit www.soapymouth.com.

Can someone tell Black Jack to speak up and across the microphone?
I've got my TV volume up, but a lot of his words are lost because they are mumbled or too soft for the mic to pick them up...
Thanks a lot!
The game is going well! Maybe we should have Black Jack up there every night?

I watched the whole White Sox game and all I got was this bogus knitted baby hat.

I zipped an e-mail off to the broadcast booth last night trying to tell them to either turn down the background mikes around the park and turn up the broadcaster's mikes or try shouting their commentary.
Not only could you hear the Cellular field announcements better than you could hear the commentary from DJ and Jack McDowell, the crowd noises were obnoxiously loud.
This isn't the first time we've had a problem hearing the announcers when WGN broadcasts the White Sox games and today's game on CSN has perfectly clear audio from the broadcasters as normal, so perhaps WGN needs to talk to their sound engineers. Mumbling perfectly describes the way DJ and Jack both sounded last night!
