Charlie Haeger
We got another peek at Charlie Haeger last night after he was recalled from the minors for the month of September and I don't think there's any question that this knuckleballer is going to pitch in the big leagues.
Yes, he did get knocked around in his one start earlier this year. But that time, he was throwing his knuckleball too hard and that's probably because of the adrenaline flowing from that first game. He looks now like he can control the speed of that pitch much better.
He went through the Royals six up, six down last night. Another benefit down the road is that sometimes you can throw a knuckleballer against a team and it will not only mess with their swings that day, but also for several days after.

Hawk,
Hey I really haven't had a chance to sit down and watch the Sox as of late, but I do believe that Charlie Haegar will become a solid major league pitcher. Any time you bring in a knuckleballer against any club, they're going to have some problems. Being that there aren't many knuckleballers in the big leagues, it's a good strategey to use in games.
That's a good point about using a knuckleballer to confuse the swings of the other team. Not only do you mess the other team up for the duration of the game in which the knuckleballer enters, but for the next few days that team will be feeling the effects of that knuckleballer. Well I hope the Sox win the series today and the Tigers lose to the Angels tonight. Go Sox!

Dear Hawk,
It goes without saying that the White Sox haven't had a good knuckleball pitcher in quite some time. If Charlie Haeger calms down and throws his knuckleball at the proper speed, in my opinion he has a chance to be the best since Wilbur Wood. I hope the team really hunkers down and wins the rest of their games. Go Sox!
