Game Notes For Friday

* The White Sox have won 10 of the 16 meetings this season, thus winning the seasons series for the sixth consecutive season.

*Chicago has crushed 18 homers in the past eight games, and now has 200 for the seventh consecutive season.

* The White Sox Jermaine Dye needs one home run to become the fourth player in Sox history (ninth times) to hit 40 in one season.

*Chicago’s Jose Contreras got shelled in his last start vs. the Royals (8/16/06), allowing seven runs on 12 hits in the loss. Contreras was 7-0 in his previous nine starts vs. K.C.

* Kansas City is just 19-40 vs. division rivals this season, losing eight of its last 10 home games vs. A.L. Central rivals.

*Kansas City pitcher Runelvys Hernandez is 0-4 in his last five home starts and is just 1-4 with a 8.31 ERA in five career home starts vs. the White Sox.
