Game Notes For Saturday vs. Twins

* The Twins have won five of their last six games against the White Sox in Chicago. * Over their first three games, Chicago starters have allowed 13 earned runs in 7.2 innings (15.26 ERA). * Last season, while the Twins scored just 29.5 percent (2nd lowest in MLB) of their runs on home runs, the White Sox led the majors scoring 45.9 percent of their runs on homers. * Over his last 12 starts against the White Sox, Johan Santana has gone 9-1 with a 1.44 ERA, allowing more than two earned runs just once. * Javier Vazquez has amassed at least 150 strikeouts in each of the last seven seasons – the longest active streak in the majors. * Last year, for the fifth time in his career, Jim Thome put together a season in which he blasted 40+ homers and amassed triple-digit runs, RBI and walks. Only two players in history (Babe Ruth 10 and Barry Bonds 7) have ever had more seasons like that.
