Before the season, it's no secret that the American League Central stacked up as baseball's best division and nothing I've seen this month has done anything to change my mind. The four teams at the top (White Sox, Tigers, Twins, and Indians) could end up battling within games of each other for the entire year. It could be a lot like 1967 when my Red Sox edged the Twins, Tigers, and White Sox on the very last day to win the pennant.
I was at a reunion for that team earlier this month and I told my teammates these teams this year are better than the ones we faced, especially because of the starting pitching being stronger, even if you factor the difference in today's players. Now that we've seen everyone in our division, it is definitely going to be a dogfight the entire season. This is the toughest April schedule I've seen since I've been with the White Sox, so the fact we're above .500 while still finding our stride is a positive.

It's been nice to see them come from behind in a few games, too. Makes me think they're finally starting to find the hitting. Getting shut out this week doesn't help that feeling, though...

As a fan of a team other than your ChiSox, I find it very annoying and arrogant at the way you call the game. You act as if the White Sox are the Yankees, talking your guys up and giving nothing to the other team. And the whole "be gone" is the most ridiculous remark, especially when you use it when the Sox are down b y many runs late in the game.

Jim, it's too bad you don't listen more carefully.. it's not 'be gone'... listen again! If you find him annoying and arrogant, it's probably because you support a non-winning team and if you look at the standings, what spectacular moves are the Yanks making?? Go find someplace else and someone else to dog on!

Another thing, Jim....Hawk is a broadcaster for which team? Oh yeah, the White Sox!!! Why are you so surprised that he "talks them up"? Oh, by the way, I've heard Hawk FREQUENTLY "talk up" players from opposing teams.
Keep up the great work, Hawk!!!

Im a big fan of baseball, the few chances I get to watch a game the Sox are on, I wanted you to know that it is VERY ANNOYING how you talk about your team. It is one thing to represent your team, its another to think they're the greatest show on dirt. Turn a back a notch and tell your companion to do so also, if that happens I might watch another Sox game. Until you realize the White Sox make mistakes I will not watch another one of your telecasts.
