Game Notes For Friday vs. Devil Rays

* The Devil Rays have won just one of the last seven games they have played in Chicago against the White Sox. * After scoring seven runs in the first-inning over its first 41 games, Tampa Bay has scored nine runs in the first-inning over its last five games. * Since Jim Thome returned to the lineup, the White Sox are 3-1. In these games Chicago is batting .314 (43/137) and is averaging 7.0 runs per game. * In three road starts, James Shields is 2-0 with a 1.88 (5/24.0) ERA and a .143 (12/84) opponent batting average. * With a win tonight, Mark Buehrle will become just the 12th player ever to win 100 games as a White Sox pitcher. * In three career games against the White Sox, Delmon Young is batting .727 (8/11) with 1 HR and 4 RBI. * Jim Thome is batting .329 (49/149) with 11 HR and 28 RBI in his career against the Devil Rays.
