Game Notes For Friday vs. Toronto

* The White Sox have not scored more than three runs in any of their last five games (which include four losses) against the Blue Jays. * The Blue Jays have won five straight games. During the winning streak, they have outscored their opponents 35-5, and shut out their opponents on three occasions. * Last season, the Blue Jays’ leadoff men hit 21 home runs – the seventh most in the majors. This year, Toronto’s #1 hitters have hit 22 homers – tied (Philadelphia) for the most in the majors. * Paul Konerko’s 20 extra base hits since June 28 lead the majors. Over the same stretch, Konerko has twice as many extra base hits as singles (10). * Jon Garland is the only pitchers in the majors this season who has pitched more than 100 innings (132.1) without having a single base stolen against him. * Greg Zaun has hit two home runs over his last four games, after hitting just two homers over his previous 45 games. * Frank Thomas is the White Sox all-time franchise leader in homers (448), RBI (1465), runs (1327) and walks (1466).

*The White Sox have baseball's toughest remaining schedule - their opponents have a .537 winning percentage. * The White Sox held the Tigers to just four hits in the first game of the doubleheader, breaking their 10-game long streak of allowing double figures in hits. *Jim Thome's 49 homers vs. the Tigers are his most against any opponent. *Curtis Granderson is a career .214 hitter vs. the White Sox, his lowest against any team.

* The season series between these teams is tied at two wins apiece. * Chicago has just one loss in its last seven road games. * The Orioles have lost three of their last four games. * Jon Garland is 2-0 with a 0.64 ERA in his last two road starts. Garland has won each of his last three starts against Baltimore. * The White Sox are hitting a major league-worst .241 this season. * Chicago is 7-12 in one run games this season while Baltimore is just 8-18. * Baltimore is 1-4 in Jeremy Guthrie’s last five home starts.

Game Notes For Friday Vs. Twins

* The Twins have won six of their last eight games played at U.S. Cellular Field. * The White Sox scored a season high 11 runs last night against the Orioles. Last season, they scored at least 11 runs on 14 occasions (tied for the fourth most in the majors). * The Twins have dropped four of their last five, including Thursday's 7-6 loss to the New York Yankees. Reliever Pat Neshek, who entered the game with a 1.34 ERA, gave up a tying two-run homer to Hideki Matsui in the eighth inning. * Boof Bonser is 6-2 in 2007 when he does not allow a home run, but just 6-8 when he allows at least one home run. * Jon Garland has allowed less than two walks in 10 of his 16 starts this season. * Over his career, Jim Thome has hit 46 home runs against the Twins – the second most (Frank Thomas 50) of any active player. * Torii Hunter and Justin Morneau are the first Twins’ duo to each reach the 60 RBI mark before the All-Star break since 1970.

Game Notes For Monday vs. Orioles

* The White Sox are 5-1 against the Orioles since July 4, 2006. Chicago is averaging 9.4 runs per game in the wins. * After dropping his 2007 road debut on April 2 to Minnesota, Eric Bedard has gone 4-0 with a 3.42 ERA in eight road starts and has allowed three runs or less in six of them. * Baltimore fell to 6-5 with a game suspended under interim manager Dave Trembley following a 4-3 loss to the AL West-leading Los Angeles Angels on Sunday. * The Orioles have scored four runs or less in 21 of their last 24 losses. * The White Sox bullpen has an ERA of 1.15 in their last seven games. Prior to their current run the bullpen posted an 8.12 ERA over the previous 41 games. * With one more walk, Jim Thome will move into 22nd place on the all-time list with 1412. Frank Robinson is 21st at 1420. * Chicago has not won a series at home since May 21-23 vs. the Athletics (five series over that span).
