Game Notes For Friday @ Mariners

* The White Sox have lost five of their last six games against the Mariners at SAFECO Field and are 8-18 against Seattle at SAFECO since the beginning of the 2001 season. * Jose Contreras’ 6-14 record is the worst by a White Sox player in a single season since Todd Ritchie went 5-15 in 2002 (minimum 20 decisions). * Bobby Jenks has successfully retired the last 41 batters he has faced, the most since Tom Browning retired 40 batters in a row in 1988. * Miguel Batista is 2-1 with a 2.89 ERA in nine career appearances against the White Sox. The 2.89 ERA is Batista’s second lowest versus any opponent throughout his career (minimum 40 IP). * After having one of the worst months at the plate in his career, Raul Ibanez has bounced back in August with a .400 (20-for-50) average while recording six home runs and 14 RBI. * J.J. Putz has a 1.95 ERA over the past two seasons and has a chance to become the first Seattle pitcher to register an ERA below 2.00 over any two-year span (minimum 100 IP).

Dear Hawk and DJ,

One year ago my wife got me the best birthday gift I have ever received - White Sox season tickets. Today (8/27) is her birthday, and I know she would love nothing more than a birthday greeting from her favorite baseball broadcaster - Ken "The Hawk" Harrelson. Hawk, could you please send a birthday greeting to Sara Michael? ("I looove Sara Michael"would be ideal).
Thank you.
Lifelong White Sox fan Jon Michael

you know what i cant stand about the white sox...the announcers...on agust 27th 2007 when they were getting beat by the d-rays 4-0 they were talking down about the team....but all of a sudden when the sox hit 4 home runs and scored 5 runs they were full of joy and all happy....thats a crock of crap that they cant back their team when they are losin but are all for them when they are winning.
