Game Notes For Tuesday @ Detroit

* The White Sox have won four straight meetings with the Tigers and lead the season series 8-4.
* Chicago has just one win in its last 12 road games while the Tigers have won three of their last four at home.
* Jeremy Bonderman will be seeking his first home win since July 1. Bonderman is 0-2 with a 7.07 ERA in two starts against the White Sox this season.
* Placido Polanco is hitting .447 (17-for-38) during his current eight-game hitting streak.
* Jim Thome is five home runs shy of becoming the 23rd player in Major League history to reach the 500 home run plateau.
* The White Sox are hitting an AL-worst .240 with runners in scoring position this season.
* Jon Garland is 0-3 with an 8.49 ERA in his last six starts. Garland is 12-6 with a 4.21 ERA in 23 career starts against the Tigers.
* Curtis Granderson is hitting .692 (9-for-13) with two doubles, two homers and four RBI in his last four games.

Hawk and DJ, what is your opinion on why the Sox have not utilized their younger players more at this stage of the season when they are essentially out of the playoff race. Wouldn't this be an excellent time to see what they can do in the majors and give them some major league experience.
