Game Notes For Friday @ Rays

* The White Sox have won their last five games against the Rays, outscoring Tampa Bay 26-13 in these contests. * Tampa Bay’s 18 infield hits are second-most in the A.L. this season. In 2007, Tampa Bay ranked 25th in the majors in this statistic (114). * The White Sox are 3-for-5 on stolen base attempts this season. The three stolen bases are tied for fewest in the majors. * Joe Crede’s four game-winning runs batted in are tied for the second-most in the majors so far this season. * Left-handed batters are hitting Javier Vasquez at a .364 clip this season, while right-handers are batting just .128 against him. * Like his younger brother Justin (Diamondbacks), B.J. Upton is off to a strong start in 2008, tied for 4th in the A.L. in both runs (13) and runs batted in (15). * Jeff Niemann will be making his second career M.L. appearance. He allowed just one run in six innings in his M.L. debut against the Orioles on April 13. Niemann is one of seven active major league pitchers who is 6’9” or taller, and at 280 pounds, is the fourth heaviest.
