Game Notes For Opening Day

* These teams split their 18 head-to-head meetings last season nine apiece, highlighted by a July 6th double-header that featured a 32-run barrage by the Twins that day. Minnesota won both games. * The White Sox will try to reverse a negative trend from last season when they open their home schedule today. Last season Chicago went 38-43 on the South Side for their first losing record there since 1999. * Justin Morneau has collected an RBI in each of his last four games, including four on Saturday against the Royals. He has 12 career four-plus RBI games. * Twins pitchers have walked just six batters through seven games this season, the fewest walks by a pitching staff in the majors. * Paul Konerko hit five homers vs. the Twins last season. Only Jim Thome (7) and Travis Hafner (6) had more round-trippers vs. Minnesota in 2007. * The White Sox have three players in the MLB top 15 in on-base percentage entering today. A.J Pierzynski leads the majors at .565. Jermaine Dye and Nick Swisher are tied for 14th with a .481 average.
