This is the time of year when talk turns to front-runners for the annual baseball awards. It's no surprise that Carlos Quentin is the Most Valuable Player in the American League in my mind, no doubt about it.
Winning is an essential part of the equation for the MVP. If you take Tampa, Boston, Minnesota, and the Angels, there's no question that Carlos has done more for our team than anybody on those clubs.

OFF TOPIC. Hey there Hawk my friend and I watch the Sox everytime they are on and have noticed just how fast Ramiraz is and have come up with a great nickname for him. We call him "The Cuban Missle" and often remark when he is running the base paths that the other team has a "Cuban Missle Crisis". Just thought we would share that with you. Feel free to use it anytime and GO SOX!!!!

Hawk, we loved you as a Red
Sox player but your biased
play by play vocalization
on WGN here is Florida is
a disgrace. It's as if you
had no idea that the Sox/Sox
game was being broadcast outside of the Chicago area.
Can't you try to appear to be a bit more impartial? It's no pleasure to listen to you and your rantings!!
