Game Notes For Playoff Vs. Twins

* This will be the eighth one-game playoff in major league history and the fourth one-game tiebreaker that has been played in the AL. The last such AL contest was in 1995 when Seattle beat the California Angels, 9-1, for the AL West title. * The winner of this contest will advance to face the AL East champion Tampa Bay Rays on Thursday. * The White Sox have won seven of their nine home games against the Twins this season, including five in a row. * With a win, the Twins would earn their fifth AL Central crown in the last seven years (2002-04 & 2006). The White Sox last won the division title en route to the 2005 World Series. * Nick Blackburn is 0-3 with a 7.66 ERA in his last five road starts (all Twins losses). Blackburn is 0-2 with a 7.20 ERA in three career road starts against the White Sox. * John Danks is 0-3 in his last five home starts and is 1-1 with a 7.91 ERA in four starts against the Twins this season. * Jermaine Dye is hitting .467 (7-for-15) with two homers and seven RBI in his last four games. Dye is 3-for-14 (.214) with one homer and two RBI in his career against Nick Blackburn. * Justin Morneau is hitting .438 (7-for-16) with three homers and eight RBI in his career against John Danks, while Joe Mauer is hitting .667 (8-for-12) in his career against Danks.
