Game Notes For Monday @ Tigers

* Including a 6-1 victory yesterday, the White Sox won their last two games against Minnesota by a combined score of 14-1 and took the weekend series from the Twins after dropping three of their first four games of 2009. * Chicago is 24-13 at Comerica Park since the beginning of 2005—the best record in Detroit by any American League squad over the last 4+ seasons. * The Tigers fell behind, 4-0, to the Rangers yesterday but roared back to win with a 6-run eighth inning and swept Texas three straight over the weekend by a combined score of 25-9. Detroit has now won four of five since dropping the first two games of 2009 to Toronto. * Chicago defeated Detroit 12 of 18 times the two squads met last season, including five of nine games at Comerica Park. * Brandon Inge hit his fourth home run of the season yesterday (tied for second most in the league) and will be playing in his 1000th MLB game today (all games with the Tigers). * Jim Thome hit his 543rd career home run yesterday and is now just five shy of tying Mike Schmidt for No. 13 on the all-time list.
