Game Notes For Wednesday vs. Royals

*The Sox are 62-31 (.667) vs. the Royals during Ozzie Guillen's tenure - their best mark against any American League team during that run. *The Royals' 24-year playoff drought is second only to the Washington Nationals (1981 as the Expos). *Since 2004, the Sox own the best March/April record in baseball at 74-46 (.617). The Royals own the worst at 38-84 (.314). *Gavin Floyd got the most run support at home of any pitcher in the majors last year. The Sox scored an average of 7.47 runs in Floyd's starts at U.S. Cellular Field. * With his game-winning home run yesterday, Jim Thome has now hit 43 home runs in his career against the Royals, the highest total amongst all Kansas City opposing players.
