Game Notes For Friday vs. Rangers

Thursday’s 6-0 win over Detroit was Chicago’s second shutout of the season, both coming at home. That is tied with the Tigers and Angels for the most home shutouts in the American League. * Texas has hit at least one home run in all but two of its games so far this season. The Rangers lead the majors with 50 homers, which is nine more than any other club. * After posting a .295 average in April, Michael Young is batting a blistering .452 (14-for-31) so far in May. * Matt Harrison is 2-0 with a 3.00 ERA in his last two starts, including a win over the White Sox, after going 0-2 with a 9.20 ERA in his previous three starts. * Dating back to last season, Jose Contreras is 0-4 with an 8.10 ERA in his last nine starts and will be seeking his first win since June 27, 2008. Contreras is 1-2 with a 10.17 ERA in five career starts against Texas.
