* While these teams have split 20 games since the start of 2007 (10-10), Minnesota holds a 127-100 edge in runs scored, averaging over six runs per game against the Sox.
* The Twins have been shut out four times so far this season – tied (Tigers, Nationals) for the most in the majors.
* After allowing 17 runs in their first two road games this season, the White Sox pitching staff has an ERA of just 2.24 away from home since April 3 – the lowest in the American League (Arizona 2.14).
* Joe Mauer’s current 10-game hit streak is tied for the second longest of his career, trailing only an 11-game streak in May/June of 2006.
* Carlos Quentin is the only American League player this season to have at least 20 runs and 20 RBI.
* Jim Thome has hit six home runs in his last eight games against the Twins. No active player has hit more home runs against the Twins than Thome has hit (53) over his career.

* The Yankees won six of 10 games from the White Sox in last year’s season series. New York averaged 9.2 runs while winning five of the last six meetings.
* The Yankees’ 7-1 victory over Baltimore on Sunday snapped a three-game losing streak.
* The White Sox, who have played the second-fewest home games in the American League (seven), begin a seven-game homestand on Tuesday.
* Through his first 45 pitches of games, Chien-Ming Wang has permitted a puny .122 average to opposing hitters. But from then on, they’ve generated a .306 mark.
* After going 2-0 with a 0.60 ERA in his first two career starts against the Yankees, Jose Contreras is 0-4 with a 6.08 ERA in his last four outings versus New York.
* Bobby Abreu’s .408 career average against the White Sox is the highest mark by any player versus Chicago since 1956 (minimum 60 PA). His on-base percentage (.523) and slugging percentage (.775) against the Sox also rank first over that span.
* Over his last five games, Jim Thome has batted .389 with three homers and nine RBI.

* Joe Crede’s four game-winning runs batted in are tied for the second-most in the majors so far this season.
* Left-handed batters are hitting Javier Vasquez at a .364 clip this season, while right-handers are batting just .128 against him.
