Before the Yankees begin their day-night doubleheader, wanted to take a moment to wish Jon Heyman well. After 15-plus years here breaking countless exclusive stories, he's leaving Newsday to join Sports Illustrated. I can't thank him enough for all the stories we had double bylines on, stories he deserved full credit for. Best wishes.

This has got to be the worst development for Newsday readers since Bob revealed that BLOB had fully recovered from BLOB and was going to be in Atlanta for a Morton's off-day meal.
I've always been impressed by how unafraid Heyman is, and will really miss his Newsday column. I look forward to reading him in SI but tell him to keep it real and don't go all Gary Smith on us and start overwriting.

He did have good sources..Davidoff and him worked well together... but one of his last columns for Newsday proclaimed that Arod sucks in the clutch, 'because he practices too hard..' this is someting a high school paper wouldnt print.... Sorry Jonny-boy, he just sucks in the clutch, plain and simple...
Jon typically drank the Yankee Kool-Aid, except when it came to Sheffield or Randy Johnson.. Now, working with Verducci, Yankee fans should get as much Yankee spin as what comes out of Michael Kay's big fat, useless mouth..
Now Jon's leaving? Is he going to Carolina also? Next thing you know, Resh Limbo is going to leave ESPN.
