Sound the alarm

randy.jpgRandy Johnson will not throw another pitch until the postseason. He told the Yankees today his back has been hurting for three weeks and counting, getting worse and worse every time.

Don't you think the Yankees would have liked that info two or three weeks ago?

Don't think the Yankees were too happy about that, but too late for that now. Johnson is now in line to pitch Game 3 of the ALDS, which will provide 12 days of rest for The Big Unit's back.

We caught up to Johnson in front of the team bus in the Tropicana Field parking lot -- that's another story -- and when he was asked about going Game 3 instead of 2, Johnson said, "That's the least of my worries right now."

Was RJ in that car with Pavano? :)

Randy Johnson could very well turn out to be this year's version of Kevin Brown...What did Brown do for the Yankees in the post-season...Nothing !

You guys are ridiculous, this guy has worked his arse off and he is 43 years old and has the 2nd most innings pitched for the team as well as the most starts. This dude has been overused this year just like Proctor and deserves a rest. I gaurantee you he will perform. You can't blame any failures on RJ this year, he has done more than expected and is a key reason for the Yankees success. Yes he has some off starts, but he has always been that way. He is someone Torre can count on. He will be the reason the Yankees win it this year, watch.

So Jim, you carry a shoebox full of old baseball cards with you on the road? Where do you get these pics to go with your posts?

Google Images, Jason.

Whatever RJ's contributions, if he's got back trouble, he owes it to the team to speak up at the time. Can't trash Pavano for that while making excuses for RJ.

Wow, the AL East has been locked up for almost two months while Cory Lidle has sat on the bench and Randy Johnson has been pitching with pain all this time? Does anyone remember David Wells bending over in pain during that start against the Angels in the playoffs a few years back after he bragged about how he didn't need to take care of himself? This has disaster written all over it.

HEY BROOKS, WHAT TEAM HAVE YOU BEEN FOLLOWING? RANDYS' BACK PROBLEMS HAVE BEEN AN ISSUE ALL YEAR.
