Streak to end?

We're in the eighth inning here and it looks as if Derek Jeter's 25-game hitting streak will end today. (In his last at-bat he swung 3-and-0 but grounded out to first.) It's the longest streak by a Yankee since Joe Gordon -- no relation to Tom -- hit in 29 straight games in 1942. Jeter went 40-for-109 (.367) with eight doubles, three home runs and 18 RBIs during the streak. Of course there are still two innings left to play...

He won't beat Joe D's streak, so who cares? I'm sure Jeter couldn't care less as long as they win the game.

Torre's streak as manager should end. this is worst example of mailing it in I've ever seen. They've won nothing yet, and Torre's leaving in Mike I-Pitch-to-One Left-Hander-a-Game Myers to face a parade of righties. Disgusting.

The guys can rest in November. They should be playing to win.

Four games in two days may complete the schedule with the Red Sox's but is killing our fragile pitching. I wish Joe would take the approach get the magic number 4 more wins than rest the players. I have seen enough of Nick Green. Cairo could use some swings, also. The starters with the schedule seem to be off their game a bit. Farnsworth is Farnsworth. I just cannot seem if in a positive light. Lets get it down then put the young guys in the lineup.

This was just disgusting.Losing to Sux,who
cannot beat anyone else in the league!! Dustin "the
munchkin" Pedroia gets hits vs the Yanks, hitting .125 vs everyone else=in the words of Phil Leotardo,....
nauseating!!! The resting of the players is stupid, they have not clinched yet,the offense is
horrible, cannot get hits off Kyle Snyder and Jarvis?
Everyone else uses them for bp!! Enough of Nick Green, send him back to Tampa.Lets get the team back on the field and back on track to win home field and wrap up the division.

Bernie Williams should never play defense. That throw from shallow center field on 4 bounces was Little League stuff. Add Posada to the Little League roster with that lame back handed attempt to block a pitch in the dirt. Both plays cost us runs and the game. These games are almost meaningless, but scouts from other possible playoff teams will take note.

I think Joe was giving the Sox a pass. He could have thrown everyone in there, yet why add insult to injury. We have 20 chances to win it even if Boston runs the table. He didn't go for the throat against a struggling team that will be gunning for us soon enough. Again classy move? Or was it poor judgement. I prefer to see it in the classy light since that is the same way Joe has always gone about his business. We didn't pitch the young-uns, we threw our top aces at em and got beat, so suck it up, move on and wait a day or two to clinch and get hjome field throughout the playoffs. You will always see a letdown when 2 day nighters come back to back like that. Why go crazy trying to win those? We shot for a split and didn't pull off the second win. Que sera sera. Joe was probably listening to the Giants game too.
