Taking Some Ribbing

Guess who is supposed to show his face in the Yankees clubhouse this Friday?

Yes, that's right. Carl Pavano.

Joe Torre was asked about Pavano's, uh, progress from his latest injury -- broken ribs from a car accident he hid from the team -- and Torre revealed that Pavano is scheduled to throw in front of them Friday. Pavano, who has been in Tampa recently, will report to St. Petersburg, Fla., to throw on the side, meaning he will have to show up in the clubhouse and face his teammates (many of whom think he's a joke).

Should be an interesting scene.

Here is Carl Pavano as a Red Sox prospect. Don't you think the Yankees wish the Red Sox were more successful wooing Pavano as a free agent back in the 2004 winter.

I think Pete Abe summed it up best on his blog today when referring to whether Pavano is going to have that bullpen session on Friday, "Unless of course his teammates give him the Private Pyle treatment first."

I'll gladly supply the towels/pillowcases and bars of soap in case his teammates want to participate in the hazing.

Pavano basically needs to throw 10 complete game shutouts in a row before he'll get the time of day in NY. Somehow, I think he'll strain a pinky needing four months of rehab befopre he throws one complete game, let a lone ten.

Seeing Pavan"ow" in that uniform explains alot! VVEEERYYY EEEEnteresting. Having a mole in the Yankees dugout to moniter every move? So far he has provided Epstein with so much data that Columbus was comprimised and all files switched to division. Jack Bauer is currently posing as a short over-sexed Hollywood wanna-be to get inside Carl's head and bring him down.

Veeeery Interesting pic. Explains alot about his makeup and inner psyche. Why don't the Yanks check the "heads" of these guys out before they sign them. Since the Sox need pitching, I say trade Pavano to them for a case of balls!

It's pretty ironic that the Pavano baseball card included in the blog shows our buddy Carl sitting on the bench, something he does very well. Oh that's right, he had a bruised butt for six months so maybe he stood for a while, you know, the whole rehab thing.
