On the Yankees beat

the bubba blogger seems perfectly normal to me. and he knows for sure that sheff ran bubba over on purpose in the 2005 playoffs on that pivotal fly ball.

I loved Bubba and wish he had gotten a real shot to play regularly over the course of his career as a Yankee. In 2005, when given an everyday chance in Sept, he hit .321 and helped the Yanks get to the postseason.

I'm glad he's landed a spot w/ the Reds and very much hope and expect that he'll make the team out of spring training.

Go Bubba!

Odds of Bubba actually making the Reds opening day roster? slim and none.

I loved Bubba. He was one of my favorite Yankees. This kid busted his tail and hustled more than anybody. He was also a great defensive OF.

If Sheffield wouldn't have shocked Bubba and eveyone else by actually hustling (the one and only time) on that fly ball, Bubba would have caught it easily! Apparently, Sheff still doesn't understand that CF's are the QB's out there.

Long live Bubba ! I miss Bubba, although I'd take Melky any day over him. Will never forget his walk-off against the Orioles that saved the '05 season, before the Yanks went to Fenway to clinch the AL (B)East. If they lose that game, Sox would have won the division last year. Great player- Here's a question for y'all- what will happen to the OF after '07 ? Will they bring back Abreu, or do you think they'll pursue Andruw Jones, slide Damon or Matsui to RF ? Also, is it me, or do the free agent pitchers stink this year ? Even Zito ! I say they make a trade for a Peavey/ Willis--

After 2007, I see Damon sliding to RF and the Yanks signing FA Vernon Wells or Tori Hunter. There are a bunch of FA CF's in 2008.

i think you should keep abreu. he did awesome in the 06 season with the yanks.
he is one of the best in the league in drawing walks and hes a 20-30 homerun and stolen base guy. hes very good in the clutch if we had him all year we would have done better in the post season.
if anything get rid of damon and get hunter as CF and lead off keep abreu and matsui.
even keep damon, even try teaching matsui to 1st.
