It's vacation time for me again, but more importantly for the Yankees fans, Brian Cashman is off the clock next week as well. He'll be in the Caribbean, so don't expect much Yankees news. The roster seemingly is all set (aside from a spot saved for Roger Clemens, of course). So if you're wondering how this Bernie Williams situation is going to be resolved, it sure seems to me that the Yankees are waiting for him to decide to retire. And at that point they'd bring him in to the stadium and give him his own news conference and plan a Bernie Williams day for August. Just my hunch.
See you guys soon...

does it bother anybody else that roger clemens was the talk of Andy Pettite's return??
i thought andy deserved a little better - one of the classiest men in baseball!
Welcome back Andy!
DITTOS
Jim- Have a good time. I hope Cashman is secretly doing a little scouting while on his "vacation". Do the Yankees have a definite back-up catcher?
Brandon Claussen, ex Yankee farmhand voted top Yankee prospect in 2003 signed with Washington today. I wonder why the Yankees did not take a chance with him, unless he wanted a major league deal on the 40 man roster.
They didnt show interest in Claussen because it turns out that Claussen stinks.
Roy-
I think it might be Raul Chavez. It really is not that urgent to get a backup catcher.Personally I still think we need to better our pitching staff. I am not sold on Clemens because we all have seen what 40 year olds do on our roster. However when I look around the league there really is not one team that you can point to and say they have a great staff without raising question marks. Sure the Soxs look good on paper but haven't the Yankees looked good on paper for the last 6 years? I still think the Yanks have the AL East this year. We finished 11 games better than the Soxs and this off-season the Yanks in my eyes are better than they were last year. We started losing when Sheff came back now he's gone. RJ would give you the once in a while 6 innings but give up a ton of runs. Wright never got out of the first inning. You may ask how you might think we are better and here it is....
We got rid of 2 cancers. Cash upgraded the defense at first. Pettitte a proven winner comes in and replaces a guy who could not cut it in NY (RJ).
Igawa replaces Wright and if Igawa can pitch more than one inning than he is an upgrade over Wright. We have worked on the pen bringing in Britton and Vizcano. Hopefully that will help Proctor and Fransworthless.
Now we also have a prospect base and who knows maybe we see Hughes and Sanchez this year. This team looks alot better than the last couple of years.
According to Jon Heyman, here's what the Padres deal for Johnson would have looked like:
San Diego offered reliever Scott Linebrink and third-base prospect Chase Headley in a deal where the Yankees would have sent back $6 million to offset Johnson's salary
I agree Pinstriped Player. It should have been all about ANDY.
Considering Posada's age, and the physical demands of his position, that back-up catcher spot is important. In order to keep Posada "fresh", once we hit June, we should have him behind the plate no more than 4 games a week if we play 6 games, and 5 games a week if we play 7. I hope our back-up catcher doesn't come out of a "grab-bag" this Spring.
Fassano would been the backup if he knew how to hit. Insiders said pitchers liked him
The Yankees just announced 20 non-roster invitees to spring training. Included in the list is former Met, Philly and Brave, C-Todd Pratt. Maybe that is where the veteran backstop comes from if Wil Nieves doesn't win the job this spring.
http://rotoworld.com/content/home_MLB.aspx
Yankees announced the retirement of RHP Jeff Nelson.
Because MLB needs to be more like the NFL, Nelson first signed a minor league deal with the Yankees and then made the announcement. The 40-year-old Nelson had a 3.41 ERA in 798 career appearances, all of them coming out of the pen. He spent 16 seasons in the majors, six with the Yankees and eight with the Mariners.
good luck Jeff.
Here's the full list of non-roster invitees. In addition to Pratt, Ben Davis and Raul Chavez both represent catchers with experience.
Jeff Nelson was invited, but retired and I'm interested in Ben Kozlowski a 6'6" left handed relief pitcher.
Invited RHP Jeff Nelson, INF Andy Cannizaro, INF Angel Chavez, C Raul Chavez, RHP Tyler Clippard, C Ben Davis, INF Eric Duncan, OF Brett Gardner, RHP Phil Hughes, RHP Steven Jackson, LHP Ben Kozlowski, INF Ramiro Pena, RHP Ross Ohlendorf, C Peter Pilittere, C Todd Pratt, C Omir Santos, OF Jose Tabata, INF Marcos Vechionacci, RHP Kevin Whelan, and RHP Steven White to Spring Training.
link chip???
I think the Yanks will make a spring training deal for a backup catcher, they know they need one but they'll look for the right deal and they will find someone, it's not worth getting to stressed over. I don't think Todd Pratt will be the answer though, the guy has got to be 40 by now.
Whatever happened to Ramiro Mendoza? Last I remember he was back with the Yanks, trying to make it back from shoulder surgery. I'm reminded of him because of the Jeff Nelson retirement . We had a nice bullpen back when it was Nellie; Graeme Lloyd; Ramiro; Stanton and then Mariano. All of them were horses and they really spoiled Joe.

Humberto Sanchez Youtube Video
Sanchez dominates at the Futures Game
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oopqybAcj9k
Do you know who's the Catcher calling behind plate and catching for Sanchez? It was Kottaras - former san diego catching prospect who got traded with Redsox with David Wells.
Kottaras is good signal caller behind the plate.. The Redsox got a steal
WOW! did you see the strikeout pitch for the first out??? That breaking ball was just filthy. mixed in with his plus fastball, and man...this guys the real deal. Imagine in a couple of years, sanchez, hughes, wang, olehndorf, and another starter. that equals dominance. i know i might be dreaming, but...man that would be sooome rotation guys. what do you guys think?
Thank you Jeff Nelson. You are truly one of the great Yankees and will be remembered for your many contributions to our latest dynasty.
From Reading Boston Herald - The story on Papelbon and the closer
http://redsox.bostonherald.com/redSox/view.bg?articleid=176707
“My arm is stronger than it’s ever felt,” said Papelbon, who went 4-2 with 35 saves and a 0.92 ERA in 59 relief appearances last year. “I’ve been doing exercises I never did before and with such dedication. I’m ready to go.”
“I like it, man,” Papelbon said. “I went to the Celtics [team stats] game (Wednesday night) and some guy came running up to me when I was sitting courtside and said, ‘We’re going to get 20 wins out of you next year!’ I like that. I like the pressure.’
He said his one season as a closer has given him a different perspective on the pitchers who finish the games he starts.
Papelbon will win 20 games? Please , I prayed papelbon goes down with elbow injury
.
The only two pitchers that scares me on redsox rotation is Papelbon and Matsuzaka The Bosawx don't need a closer since half of their rotation like Papelbon and Matsuzaka can go deep in the ballgames.
Wow, J.B.!
With comments like that, you could qualify as GM of the Boston Red Sox!
Sorry Lathamjoe, I hate The Redsox and I'm yankees fan.
The Blue Jays have a better team than the Red Sox. Stop focusing on the team that finished 3rd in our division last year, and be concerned about the Jays.
The Red Sox finished 11th out of 14 in the American League last season in staff ERA and in runs allowed.
They have made some improvement, maybe, mostly because you cannot get much worse than that. So it might be fair to predict a jump up to 10th place or a drop to 12th place equally likely.
I don't know if you guys saw Hughes and Tabata at the futures game this year but here is the video....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dCoGKkk_njg
I cannot wait for the future of Wang, Hughes, Ohlendorf, and Sanchez. Lets not forget about Joba and Delin. That is going to be awesome. It would still be nice for a lefty but I will take a power rotation anytime.
Brokeback Mound: Starring Roger Clemens and Andy Pettite
A story about 2 men who follow each other from team to team to team to team and their trials and tribulations of being the 2 most flaming...I mean flame throwers in the league. Watch and see their tender moments unveil on the silver screen as both pitchers or catchers (how ever you want to put it) share their most intimate moments on the mound together. One scene which most likely is an Academy Award winning scene has Clemens and Pettite with their tent pitched directly on the mound of Yankee stadium both fighting under one sleeping bag for the rosin bag (or rosin tea bag). Clemens makes sweet love to Pettite as Pettite has one of his wandering eyes directly focused on what Roger is doing and his other wandering eye on the lookout for Steinbrenner who will most likely issue a STIFF fine should he catch them in the act.
Special guest appearances by Mike Piazza and Barry Bonds(c'mon, you don't think he has that sweet voice for nothing right?)
This movie is a guaranteed tear jerker...for some, a hot dog jerker(wink wink)
On a serious note, I wish these two would just come out of the closet already. It's 100% obvious to anyone with a brain. They would do good for society and the g a y community. This is 2007 for gods sake, come out now, the water is fine!!
Kil.s has definitely got issues to deal with....
The Yanks don't need the "part-time" Clemens. We are getting younger, and youth brings with it enthusiasm. Having a player that only plays half the season, and doesn't accompany the team on road trips, would be stunting this new direction.
I say in regards to clemens we should just trust cashman with this decision.
Mr. Lupica goes too far
http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baseball...8p-411480c.html
Mike Lupica warns the Yankees that "... they need to understand that they do not just get his 44-going-on-45 right arm, they also get the questions about whether that crackerjack training regimen we hear about all the time with him is more natural than solar energy."
There is no question that Clemens has retained his dominant form going into his mid-40s. That is certainly unusual. But his workouts are notoriously tough. In fact, Bob Klapisch penned a piece when Clemens was with the Yankees describing the Rocket's obsession with exercise. The reduced workload of only pitching a half-season or so had to help Clemens last year. Without the grind of spring training, he was able to go strong for four straight months instead of trying to pace himself.
If Clemens was juicing, wouldn't he just walk away from the game instead of jeopardizing his reputation? If Clemens was on the stuff, wouldn't we see him breaking down like Bonds and McGwire did when they were forced off of their drugs of choice? While guys like Giambi and Bonds have seemed to slim down after alledgedly quitting the habit, Clemens has managed to retain his larger frame.
There is no reason, aside from the Jason Grimsley investigation that Lupica alludes to, to even suspect Clemens. And given the current environment with multiple major media outlets trying to break the next big story, and given the FBI's interest in tracking down the major offenders in Major League Baseball, isn't it possible -- or even likely -- that there have been people investigating Clemens to no avail over the last few months?
We're not completely naive, and it's not impossible to imagine Clemens using steroids. However, the accusation from Lupica (without any proof, we might add) is competely and utterly uncalled for.
Roy,
Clemens and Pettite are just bridges to the youth. Hughes, Sanchez, etal may not be ready. Clemens and Pettite are short term stop gap measures. No long term deals, i.e. Pavano. I think the Yankees will avoid long term deals like Pavano
Dennis R- If I was driving, I would take a detour and not use the "Clemens Bridge". It is old and unreliable. The "toll" is also atrocious.
After reading the Don MAttingly Article and viewing his stats. I'm convinced ...... HE IS A HALL OF FAMER!!!! if those were his numbers in 14 seasons and basically he had only five STRONG seasons but played it through and with his HIGHEST in the HISTORY of the GAME Fielding % 996!! and with his elimination of the steroid era players he is up there . too me his chief Competition is Will Clark and that is deleted in part due to Wil Being a DH for alot of seasons. frank thomas would be another but his numbers eroded drastically and was/is a terrible defending 1b. MO vaghn is eliminated becasue he became a dud. so the likes of Clark, Mattingly , Joyner should be look at
The New York Yankees notify Bernie Williams, last Wednesday, that they didn't have space for him in their 2007 lineup. They offer him a minor league contract in a "take it or leave it" type of deal, severing a twenty year relationship in a vary distasteful manner.
Hope everyone had a god weekend.
Here's a little tidbit from FoxSports Ken Rosenthal:
The Yankees can spend whatever it takes for free-agent right-hander Roger Clemens; their payroll is down to $157 million, according to a major-league source, $167 million including benefits.
With a relatively trim payroll by their standards, might the Yankees make a run at the Rocket? (Ronald Martinez / Getty Images)
Yet, for all their streamlining, the Yankees still don't have room for free-agent center fielder Bernie Williams. The problem is not money, but roster space — the Yankees don't have a spot for Williams, and they want to keep the bottom of their roster flexible.
Williams, 38, played far more often and was far more productive than the Yankees expected last season, but he no longer offers assets that most teams want from their bench players — stolen-base ability, above-average defense, pinch-hitting prowess.
If injuries strike, the Yankees might need to promote an outfielder such as Kevin Thompson or infielder such as Alberto Gonzalez to occupy their 25th spot. They would be locked in with Williams, and the last thing they would want would be to release him in the middle of the season.
Gonzalez, acquired in the Randy Johnson trade, is considered one of the top defensive shortstops in minor-league baseball; two teams contacted the Yankees to express interest in acquiring him before the Johnson trade was even official.
A final note on the Yankees: The team sees little need to re-sign free-agent left-hander Ron Villone, in part because their right-handed relievers are proficient at retiring lefties and in part because they believe that lefty Sean Henn might enjoy the same type of breakout that Matt Thornton did with the White Sox last season.
The Yanks dont need one of the best pitchers in the game?
Sure they dont.
The Yanks will sign up for Clemens any day of the week. And if he needs a day off every now and then give it to him. He works so hard no teammates will ever be resentful.
Quietly, the team that finished behind the Yankees last year have taken care of business. They just avoided arbitration with 1B Lyle Overbay and signed him long term. The same with probably the best all around CF in baseball, Vernon Wells. Roy Halliday and A.J. Burnett are healthy.
This Blue Jay team is not about to concede a thing to the Boston Socks. The Jays will be the team in the Yankees rear view mirror. As long as they stay a car length or better behind, all is well.
Anyone else see this feature on Baumbach? Pretty funny.
http://www.fantasysportsupdate.com/stratomadness.php
Jays signed Lyle OverPay!!!Big deal!!
I wouldn't mind Lyle Overbay on my Team. He's very solid.
Sheffield Makes Noise Again, This Time in a Book.
Here a excerpt from Ny Times
Sheffield called Manager Joe Torre “an enigma” and recalled how, in 2004, his first season in with the Yankees, he grew infuriated that Torre had said he wished the team had signed the slugger Vladimir Guerrero.
During a meeting in Torre’s office before a May game in Baltimore, Sheffield told him: “I’m tired of hearing you talk about how much you love Guerrero. That disrespects me.”
I'm glad Sheff's gone. He's cancer in the clubhouse. I would rather go after and Sign Vlad- He's younger than Sheff.
For those hoping to see Phillip Hughes start the season with the Yankees, here's an article from Tom Verducci that says "not so fast."
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/writers/tom_verducci/01/16/yankees.cashman/index.html
If and a BIG if Torre Said that that is Disrespectful and he deserved to be told off!!! you do not say that crap. but i forgot it is ok for torre to do whatever all i know is this SHEFF was the best yankee in 04! Vlad did'nt want to come here.
may we never have to sign bad apples like sheffield, randy johnson, and/or kevin brown again.
I'll second that.
Then again it's not like Reggie, Boomer, Wetteland were the best of guys in the clubhouse either.
Yankee Stadium Flushed
Tim Kurkjian, one of the few left on ESPN's Baseball Tonight actually worth listening to, runs down his five favorite ballparks. No. 1: Good ole Fenway. Not on the list: Yankee Stadium, lovingly referred to by some Sox fans as "The Toilet."
Fenway Park is magical. There's no ballpark, stadium or arena quite like it. Squeezed into the Fenway section of Boston, it's old, cramped and irritable, but there's no better place, no more intimate setting, for a baseball game. It is packed every night with among
true about boomer - I actually was there on 5/17/98 vs. twins when boomer threw his perfecto. what a thrill !
Tim Kurkjian is a stat freak, who really adds no inside information to anything he does on Baseball Tonight. His picking Fenway further shows the Red Sox bias on ESPN in general, and Baseball Tonight specifically. If you want information no one else has, Jayson Stark is the guy to pay attention to. He's not on Baseball Tonight very often, which further adds to his credibility. I very seldom get any information on Baseball Tonight that isn't available everywhere else. ESPN\ABC\Disney sold their souls to the NFL a long time ago.
Too much NBA coverage on ESPN as well. Harold Reynolds was good until they axed him.
Sheff a bad apple?? shakes head man bust his ass while on the team and yes I defend himI love his play and yes it helps he was a black PRODUCTIVE FA signing in a while! his jersey number was hot in the community in which he visited often. when AROD was slumping it was SHeff who took aside and told him what he saw that was incorrect (that is why when AROD went on that hot streak he credited SHEFF) SHeff and jeter (article aside happens to be very good friends, Like him or not SHeff yes he has had bad past's and a chip on the shoulder but he tells it like it is. was he wrong for talking about The Boss and his health ?? no everybody wants to know what the heck is up. remember The Boss signed him so why not want to talk to the dude that dealt with you if the puppets is acting up? Now this is where SHeff is right and wrong, the 06 playoffs . if you had beef with the manager then speak on your behalf do not include another player who was keeping quiet. at this point AROD professionalism was outstanding at this point. BAd apple , please do not place Sheff in that class , yes he had an attitude but it WAS HE that said he'll move to another position and at LEAST he produced.
WHen i'm wrong i'll admit it , my co-worker brought up a point he said about black representation amoungst yankees , he stated Jeter is pro black , it's THE YANKEES that is political with that notion, when you speak with jeter he is proud of his balck heritage and is in fact somewhat downed that he is not more fully embraced in such communities (radio , etc,) the reason is that the Team makes it look like he is some kind of sellout and that is false. jeter is the type of treatment that should be applied to all players universal. in fact I believe JEter helped race relations in alot of areas of baseball. I love this kid , I love my YANKEES. LEts GO , lets do this 2007 World Champs!!!!!!!
NYPost.com:
The home stretch for Yankee Stadium figures to be the 2008 season, and part of it is likely to include the All-Star Game.
The Midsummer Classic hasn't been in The Bronx since 1977, but 31 years later, Yankee Stadium is the probable venue. ESPN.com yesterday reported that the Stadium will be site of the 2008 All-Star Game.
On seven prior occasions the All-Star Game has been held in New York, with Yankee Stadium having it three times (1977, 1960, 1939), the Polo Grounds twice (1942, 1934) and Shea Stadium and Ebbets Field once each (1964 and 1949, respectively).
In those seven games, the American League had won four times, though the NL had won the three most recent contests in New York. The AL hasn't lost an All-Star Game since 1996.
The Yankees had four All-Stars last season: Robinson Cano, Derek Jeter, Mariano Rivera and Alex Rodriguez.
The replacement for Yankee Stadium figures to open for the 2009 season.
It'll be a sad day when the Stadium is gone, it's my favorite place in the city. I've had mixed feelings about the new stadium but I hope that it's as majestic as Yankee Stadium, and I hope that they don't sell the naming rights like the Mets did. What do you guys think? Keep Yankee Stadium or re-name it?
It better stay as Yankee Stadium. To me this is a risky thing here , but the same was said about the current remodeled stadium. the thing about that you still ahd your legends around like the Mic , billy , etc. and we won championships there and it was on the same ground and structure. to escape this fear the team would need to win a WS the first 5 years there (haha) just like how saint louis did with their new stadium. if the overall take of the building process has that positive effect on the WHOLE community (Camden Yards, etc. ) then it will work
Keep the name Yankee Stadium! BC must continue to build a solid foundation of good young talent at the minor league level for a successful future in the new stadium.
Since the current Yankee Stadium will not be torn down, having a new stadium by the same name, right across the street, might be confusing to some. I like "Dynasty Stadium", or "Dynasty Park".
Basically the old is being torn down the site is reduced to a partial structure and the field I believe would be cut up into many fields (i think ) I have to go around there tonight so perhaps i can view the drawing of completed construction of the area. I know they hit a snag becasue one of the areas to be built is identified to be contaminated.
They are tearing down the Stadium. They owe the land to the parks department of NYC. There was an idea tossed around that they might turn it into a museum but since the parks department is loosing so much land that little league and HS games are usually played on they had to swap and give it to the city and promise to develope more park area for the children of the Bronx.
OYF -
the lower half of the staduim remains to basically a park with a several feet high wall around it. (a designer playground basically) this was in the originals as I am viewing them now as we speak. the issue did flip with the city , but honestly it;s a bunch of crap. first no HIGH SCHOOL plays it's games there. the high schools USED YANKEE STADIUM/SHEA the park is normally used with lower tier spanish little league teams well lower except for the team that made it to the LWS with Danny amonte , i believed they played on that site. the most missed will be the large track field where you can play soccor and run and the TENNIS COURTS that alot of afluent people played at (yeah they don't say this in the press about the class of people who REALLY LIVES around the staduim and uses that tennis courts) with the courts around that area alot of judges , lawyers , etc. live and use the area's tennis courts. they are tearing them down and have to move them so that was a big issue
I think they should keep the name Yankee Stadium. The only thing that will be left of this Stadium is a marking of where home plate is. Who do you think should throw out the first pitch in the 09 opening day game at the new Yankee Stadium? Yogi? Larsen? Scooter? Cone? Someone else?
My vote's for Scooter with Yogi a close second.
The Yankees should also make sure that every Yankee champion alive is at that game. Build a new legacy but remember the rich history and champions of the past. Their presence will chase off any superstitions about the new begining.
All of them should be lined up at their positions with the Mantle /Maris/ Howard families present even having the sons fill in for their father at their positions and mix in other players at the other positions and have at short Jeter and Scooter past and present.
You're right which is why they had to include in their plans a track, tennis courts etc. for the parks department. Things got ugly towards the end.
When they started talking about a new stadium after the failed move to Manhattan plan; I thought they would tear it down and rebuild on the same site but they wanted/needed more land to include a shopping plaza. Which the storeowners were not happy about since it might put them out of business. Am I remembering this correctly?
Cool idea BB! I’d love that.
The Yankees did something like that with this years S.I. little league team that made it to the little league World Series. The kids lined up with the players at their positions for the national anthem. Those kids were in awe of the Stadium and the crowd.
Yep , your correct that is the issue. they have too basically BUILD UP the WHole area. as for the store owners, please , nobody does any REAL SHOPPING overthere , maybe the food places will lose out but as for the smaller shops not too many retail stores at all around there , this project is for the better of the community
Well, I've bought the occasional T-Shirt on days that I ended up at the Stadium unexpectedly for a game without any Yankee gear. (I have to wear Yankee gear to every game I attend; I know it's stupid). Its much cheaper there than in the Stadium. I suppose people would always go there to get a shirt or something to save some cash. They have no real worry of losing business. They’d gain since there will be even more out-of-towners around to see the new place in 2009. It will be good for the Bronx since the city will probably clean up the train station and areas around the new park to attract more tourist. That's the only time the Mayor will really care about the Bronx, when the tourist make it an official part of their NY experience.
EXACTLY!!!
It has alwys been a tourist site though people come even in the bad years of the 80's alot of the people was tourists and now it is pointed out in airplanes. the city wants to expand the area from just a visit to where one would love to LIVE around the stadium, as the players did waaaayyy back when. so instead of catering to the lower class they want to expand the middle from the small area they occupy and make them a majority in the area. thinks it's impossible?? ref....HARLEM take a look.
First pitch at the new stadium should be thrown by "Whitey", caught by "Yogi", and the batter would be "Scooter".
Scooter's health is suspect right now. I would love to see the Mick's son in a uniform he looks just like his pop.
It should remain YANKEE STADIUM. Whatever the old stadium becomes, rename that as something else, Yankee Park, etc.
I still think there will be confusion over which stadium is being referred to. "New" Yankee Stadium or "Old" Yankee Stadium. I nominate "Dynasty Field" or "Dynasty Park". There is and always will be "only" 1 Yankee Stadium, whether it is whole or not.
It's got to be Yankee Stadium, there is no other substitute. They are going to auction off seats from the old stadium and I don't care if my kids have to go to a community college and work at Burger King, but I'm getting at least two of those seats.
I'll try to go to the last game and I might just bring some tools w/ me....
I am very afraid that Scooter won't be with us in 2009. He is really having difficulty with his health these days and doesn't appear in public.
All I know is Mariano has got to throw the last pitch in the current Yankee Stadium and if a Yankee Pitcher gives up an HR in the top of the 1st at the new stadium, I'll be pissed. I'd like to see Jeter hit the first one out of the new stadium.
BB-love the idea of lining up the old and new Yanks at each position I hate the idea of building a new stadium but revenue drives every decision in baseball now and luxury boxes will bring in a lot more money so I guess it shall be.
a new stadium is definitely needed. the concession area is a mess. you can miss many innings just waiting in line for a drink or a hot dog. the pin stripe pub is too small and the menu is limited. however, there is nothing wrong with the playing field or seats. its still a beautiful park.
I agree, plus they need more bathrooms or "vomitoriums" as they are affectionately called. A new stadium will be great, but us old timers just love the old one.
"First pitch at the new stadium should be thrown by 'Whitey', caught by 'Yogi', and the batter would be 'Scooter.'"
Roy -- I love that first pitch idea! But the name should remain Yankee Stadium.
Sources: Braves trade LaRoche to Bucs for Gonzalez
http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2734082
Yes, Finally Melky won't be traded. Now what, Yankees still needs a lefty in the bullpen
JB - Yankees like the potential of Sean Henn out of the pen...also have prospect RJ Swindle
I would rather have Chase Wright than Rj swindle
J.B.,
Don't get too comfortable yet, the Braves want to replace Andruw Jones in CF because he is a FA to be so they could still spin Gonzalez to the Yanks for Melky. I doubt it will happen but anything is possible.

CAMERON Diaz is not over Justin Timberlake just yet, and things got heated when she saw her ex chatting up Jessica Biel in L.A. after the Golden Globes. Sources say the temperamental star "blew up" at Biel after she saw Timberlake flirting with her. Diaz followed Timberlake to the In Style party at the Hilton Oasis, where "they had an awkward conversation." The "Charlie's Angels" star then trailed Timberlake to the Beverly Hilton rooftop for the Universal party, where she found him chatting up Biel - and screamed at the "Illusionist" star. "If that's how she wants to get him back, it won't work," said our insider. "She's desperate." Reps for Diaz did not return our call
diaz/timberlake?..........go away your on the wrong blog BOZO!!!!
No, I'm in right blog.
If I mistaken Jeter who's dating Jessica biel
Jim A.:
I like Melky, but there is no way that he could replace Andruw Jones in CF at Turner Field!
The discussion about the new Yankee Stadium has me both excited about the prospects of visiting the new facility, and at the same time, feeling sadness about the many years of history that will be forever lost. I saw my 1st Yankee Game in the Summer
