JIm B: is Legends Field open to the general public on practice days. Any info that you can provide would be appreciated.

I wish they would air these games. Loose, fun, no pressure. You're lucky Larry you're just a drive away.

I can't wait for a description of the game.

With the very real possibility that ABREU may start the reg. season on the DL., the competition for that 4th outfielder spot is interesting. I would guess TABATA has "no shot", because he needs to continue developing by playing everyday. I've seen several posts saying THOMPSON would be the 1st outfielder called up, but he's not even in the Intrasquad starting lineup. If anyone knows why THOMPSON is not in the starting lineup for that game, let me know. I also don't see ANDY PHILLIPS in the starting lineup. Drafting that guy with a 1st round pick, is gonna doom "The Commish" in The BBB.

Which squad do you think is better?

what if Melky and Tabata are ready NOW for the big show? They aren't too far off.

Melky is definitly ready, he showed that last year. If it's just a few weeks Melky will start and they'll plug one rookie in as the 4th OF. Tabata is young so I doubt that they would put him in the pressure cooker yet. Was he in Scranton AAA or AA last season?

I thought Thompson was the obvious answer but maybe not.

Which squad do you like better? LOL. You mean the MLB squad vs. the half minor league team?

Just a guess that Phelps is starting because Torre knows what Philips can do?

Just curious too, if Reggie started a righty on the mound, would Philips or Phelps be starting instead of Doug?

I'm curious too how they play. I believe Hughes is to pitch too. If so, please let us know. I'd also like to know how the 3-4-5 hitters for the Reggie's do.

Got this tid bit about Abreu off of dailynews.com:

Melky Cabrera will step in as the everyday right fielder during Abreu's absence. Reserves Kevin Thompson and Kevin Reese will share backup duties, while top prospects Brett Gardner and Jose Tabata also are in camp.

I'm very curious about how well Karstens does.

Larry: Legends Field is open to the public free of charge on practice days. However, tomorrow is the last practice day before the games.

I really dont see why matsui would bat third and not Giambi, if torre intends to use this lineup. Giambi is the OBP machine with abreu out

If it was my order, I would flip-flop Giambi and Matsui, have Cano bat 6th, followed by Melky, Posada, and Doug M.

Jim B: Thanks for the info. I'll remember for next year, "Lord Willing and the creek don't rise".

i would put arod at number 3, but i know they are seperating the lefties.
