Igawa talk

One funny note from last night's game. Kei Igawa's English remains quite limited. He has an interpreter, but that isn't much help during innings. Jorge Posada said they have worked out decent communication signs.
Still, when Joe Torre was asked about pitching coach Ron Guidry's on-the-mound meeting with Igawa in the first inning, Torre said with a laugh: "I'm not sure how they communicated out there. Maybe Cajun is close to Japanese, I guess."
Guidry is from Louisiana, and his Cajun expressions/accent are well-known.
Whatever Guidry said to Igawa, it worked, at least in the short-term. After two straight walks, Igawa struck out the side.
