Yankees lead 3-2 after Derek Jeter's homer

The Yankees have a 3-2 lead after five innings. Derek Jeter hit a solo home run off Matsuzaka with two out in the bottom of the fifth. Jeter has been slumping. He entered the game batting only .258 in August.

5 - 3 Yankees. Nice Job DAMON!!

BTW: JOBA vs. Big Papi in the 8th...

He popped Papi up with a 98mph fastball!

WOW

Funny how Joba can take all "mussina" bad energy away

I'm a jinx

JOBA's first "jam" and he strikes the guy out.

I HAVE CHILLS!!!!!

THAT WAS AWESOME!!

HEY KEITH!!!

WHERE ARE YA BUDDY!!

I'd like to see the Yankees add another run or two before giving the ball to Mo, but at least he's facing the bottom of Boston's line-up.

Does Tiger go to Fenway?

Phucker,
You have chills and I have ulcers. I'll be sh*tting blood for two weeks after this series. Sometimes I wish I was one of those dorks who doesn't like sports.

Jim A

LOL

Now come on man you know what my medicinal solution is...

Just have a couple bourbons man!!

This is first time i've enjoyed myself in a week with team you should do the same :-)

I don't think bourbon is good for ulcers but what the hell, I'll give it a shot.

I beg of Mo to please give my system a break. Please Mo, if you ever loved me, please, please, please don't screw around tonight.

yeah it would be icing for sure to see Mo be MO again

I hate when they embarrass moose like that. I hAte him but I don't need Michael Kay to embarrass him next to Clemens and Joba...

1-2-3 inning, kids.

GAME OVER!!!

Mo is Mo -- the real Mo -- the game is over, the Yankees Win...theeeeeeee Yankees wiiiiiin!!!!!!

It's a good start that's for sure. I'm happy Mo answered my request for a peaceful ninth inning.

Whew! At least we won't get swept!

Mariners are up 2-0 in the first...come on Angels!

Where's Sully with his thoughts from sox nation?

Damon=impact player
Damon=lead off hitter Sox missing.
Damon=perennial heartbreak for Sox.
Damon=traumatized SULLY short on dumb comments.
Damon=another screw up by Sox front office.

You mean Damon's not a spy for the Red Sox? He doesn't give them the scouting reports the way Molina gives them to Anaheim? Are you sure?

Ha...when right, Damon is a great leadoff hitter. Hopefully he stays right and doesn't pull a Mussina.

relax on Damon - he hasnt proven anything yet, at least in pinstripes.

eventual game winner in sox game, aug. 28th, 8 games back doesnt do it for me.

come october, a different story

As I predicted....Andy came up big in a very big game...for the Yanks. Good win for the Yanks!

I predict a different story with Beckett....and the game between Schilling and Wang is a toss up.

Nice of anon to consistently show what an idiot he is with his half-baked quips about Dice-K.....uh...how much are the Yanks paying "Rahgah" for his losing record and almost 5 era?

What is the yankee record since clemens been signed? so what he brings to the table is apparently of higher value than w-l. and outside of a few starts he kept the team in the game a far cry than the others filling his spot.

Miguel=another empty head.

Damon had a big year with the Yankees last year and now that he is healthy will energize the Yankees.
Since starting in LF the last 15 games he's batting 435 with 3HR and playing great defense.

Casual Observer=Sully= dysfunctional BS artist.

You really went out on a limb predicting AP would have a big game...Like predicting water is wet.Everyone knows AP has a winning history in August.

More interested in your chirping about Sox future.
And how you can mix up the Sox and Yanks.

Let's set the record straight:
1-Sox not Yanks spent over 200 mil. on FA's Lugo,Drew and signing of Dice-HR who has lost his last four starts,has a 7.00ERA against Yanks,has problems protecting a lead and lost 3x to Tampa. Yankess got younger,cut payroll and stockpiled prospects.
2-You see a bright future for the Sox.With Varitek and Manny 35, Timlin 41,Schilling and Wakefield 40 that's not bright that's RIPE.
3-Boast about how Sox get rid players just before they start going downhill.Was Damon and Clemens washed up when they let them walk.
4-The truth is that since 2004 the front office dismantled the Sox and then turned around and depleted the farm system.Hell,you just gave up three prospects for a washed up Gag-me.

You need to face facts and save your "Baghdad Bob" babble for the Sox blog.

Anon...
I've only posted as Sully

Let me retort... again.
I know you won't read anything I write because I address what you say and then you pretend I didn't type it.

1) I know the Red Sox spent that money. I'M the one who always say that Red Sox fans who whine about the Yankee payroll are morons.

2) Varitek, Manny and Timlin (our mop up man) are all old. Pedrioa, BEckett, Dice K, Bucholtz and Lester are not. Not 100% sure what you are getting at there.

3) I thought the Red Sox letting Clemens go was the stupidest move since letting Fisk go.

4) The Red Sox made some very bad moves after the 2004 season and a few good ones.

5) I never had an anti-Damon stance. I yelled at Red Sox fans who boo him because my stance is you NEVER boo a member of the 2004 Red Sox.

6) You are right Anon... of all the Red Sox posters who come on this blog, I am the most unreasonable and never speak using facts.

(cuckoo clock sound effect)
